*Mutual P.O.V* (Both Jungkook and Yoongi – 3rd person)

"Your family was stolen?" Yoongi spoke into the heavy silence.

Guilt wrapped its fingers around Jungkook's heart and squeezed. He should have been strong enough to save them. Gaze fixed on Yoongi; he felt an echo of that guilt howl through his soul. He should have been strong enough.

"Yes" Jungkook responded gruffly.

Yoongi stared back. The internal war raging behind Jungkook's eyes obvious. Yoongi's only true family had been his dearest friend and their parents. Having already lost two of them, Yoongi knew grief. He did not, however, know what it was like to have his loved ones stolen. Left unaware of their wellbeing. Left to wonder if they were even alive. The grim look in Jungkook's eyes told Yoongi the embers of his hope were dying.

"Do you want to tell us what happened?" Like soothing spring rain, the kind voice broke through Jungkook's gloomy thoughts.

This warm person really did remind Jungkook of spring rain. Gentle and soothing. Their compassionate nature seeming to wash away the dark vestiges that clung to him. Jungkook wanted to trust them.

"Sure" He replied softly.

"Please don't feel pressured to" The Spring person exclaimed.

Yoongi noticed the small tired smile that touched Jungkook's lips. In that moment he felt especially grateful for his friend's ever gentle heart; it had eased some of the hurt that resided in this kid. Yoongi felt concerned for him, which was strange considering the threat he posed.

"It's fine" Jungkook waved away the concern.

Sidestepping Yoongi, the kind soul took a seat on the couch and gestured for Jungkook to take a seat in the chair he stood beside. Yoongi hauled himself up into the chair closest to him.

"I'll have to tell you about me first" Jungkook explained as he sunk into the seat, conscious of his wounds.

"Alright" Spring soothing in their tone.

"I grew up in the streets-" Jungkook began "-With lots of other kids"

Both Yoongi and his friend listened intently.

"I was one of the oldest" Jungkook's tone became wistful "-I looked after the little ones"

Yoongi had trouble picturing what was being described. This kid appeared far too young to be looking after another person, let alone a bunch of children.

"While the others worked for food" Jungkook continued unabated.

Noticing his friend leaning forward in their seat Yoongi knew this kid was going to be another one of their 'strays'. Like that Hoseok fellow he had yet to ask about.

"We stayed in an old train station-" A fond smile stretched across Jungkook's face "-Just outside the city"

It was a place Jungkook had loved. Rough and unorthodox, and home to many children who were either lost or abandoned. Founded originally by a group of runaways it had grown into a family for those who had no one else.

The older members went out to work. Some found families of their own and left the station, but came back to visit occasionally. It was a safe place that all young people were welcome to if they needed a place to stay. A haven.

Jungkook's smile faded as he remembered his deepest hurt. That unruly home was rubble now. Empty. Lifeless.

"One night... About six months ago" Jungkook's desolate tone made Yoongi's heart clench.
