Barren plains and dark skies wrought Yoongi's dreams. Desperation, longing and emptiness mingling together leaving him in a daze. The scorching blaze searing his back startled him awake. He lay staring up at the ceiling gasping for breath, a sheen of sweat coating his skin.
Going to sit up he found that he couldn't. A familiar arm was wrapped across his chest; a face he'd recognize anywhere was pressed into the curve of his neck. He froze immediately, trying to recall what had happened the night before. Blinking a few times, he remembered nothing unusual. He had come to his bed alone after helping his friend get into their own bed. He was sure of it, because he'd fantasised about this exact scenario and scoffed at the thought.
Now it was happening he was at a loss. Yoongi experimentally shifted his weight and felt them stir. He stilled.
He watched them slowly raise their head and pause before looking down into his eyes. Yoongi felt an uncomfortable knot in his stomach. His friend's lips pulled up into a compelling smile, their eyes oddly misted. They reached down to caress his face, sending an electric jolt through his system. Yoongi couldn't look away, though part of him knew that he should. Their touch was so soothing. He felt his mind beginning to drift and struggled to prevent it.
That's when he recognized it. That current of strangeness like molten heat coating his skin and surrounding his friend's body too. Yoongi tried to control it in his head but felt it surge when his friend leaned closer to him. Squeezing his eyes shut he slipped away from them and rolled up onto his feet.
He wasn't sure what was happening. Breaking their physical connection made it easier for him to close off that odd sensation. Sitting in the middle of his bed they looked longingly after him. Yoongi felt the last of the oddness dissipate. The desire that had filled their eyes a moment before began to dispel, leaving him in utter confusion when his friend lay back down and closed their eyes.
Unsettled by his dream and the abnormal events following it, Yoongi ambled out into their living area and sat at the piano. Really wanting a smoke but knowing he couldn't he placed a cigarette between his lips without setting it alight. It grounded him. He began composing soft melodies and was there for almost an hour, completely immersing himself in his task.
"Morning Roomie!" Their familiar voice called.
"Morning" He responded, glancing up as they walked by him and seeing them fully dressed and ready for the day. The haze had left, their eyes were clear and looking at him with their normal sincerity. Yoongi relaxed slightly. Whatever had happened this morning, it had not been normal.
The person before him didn't seem to have any intention of bringing up the topic and Yoongi felt a sense of de ja vu at the situation. Did they not remember again? He would not bring it up. Yoongi continued playing his melodies.
"You've always played so beautifully" They smiled at him while eating their breakfast.
Five minutes later they rose from their chair, cleared their dishes and left the room. Yoongi released a sigh. That energy had begun to build again as he'd been playing. Was it reacting to his roommates proximity or was it something else?
Striding back into the room, they gathered their things as if preparing to leave.
"Where are you going?" Yoongi asked.
"To help Hoseok" That name again. Yoongi felt the energy build stir uncomfortably inside him. A growing need to be beside his friend fed the fire.
"Can I borrow some clothes?" The building energy abruptly halted as his friend asked him this question. All his life this person had borrowed clothes from him. It doused all these new sensations in fond memories of the past. Yoongi pulled the cigarette from his lips and stared at them, deadpan.
