i need a tutor | five

"ugh." y/n groaned, her face in her hands while she shook her head slightly in annoyance.

"what's wrong, l/n?" oikawa asked, tilting his head while iwaizumi also looked up at y/n. she didn't answer for a while, until she finally looked up at the two of them.

"so, i may or may not need a tutor." y/n slowly said, fiddling with her fingers while trying to avoid eye contact. she found it embarrassing, but iwaizumi and oikawa didn't see anything wrong with it.

"oh, you should let iwaizumi and me tutor you!" oikawa said happily, thinking he had solved the situation.

"but my teacher's the one making me do it, and i'm being assigned one." y/n concluded, trying to think of what to do. she hated talking or even interacting with anyone she didn't know.

"then just request us!" oikawa said, shrugging.

"maybe i should just request iwaizumi." y/n said, putting a finger on her chin as if she were thinking, once again joking with oikawa.

"she's right, i don't think you could stay in class." iwaizumi had joined in, making fun of oikawa.

"you two are so mean!" oikawa pouted, crossing his arms. y/n giggled as iwaizumi slightly smirked. lunch went by as they chattered, petals being spilt every once in a while.

"i'll figure out my tutor today after school." y/n finished as she walked to class, waving goodbye as iwaizumi and oikawa headed into their class as well.

"are you serious?!" y/n yelled while walking off school grounds with oikawa.

"you're joking right?" oikawa asked, putting his hands in the pockets of his jacket. y/n shook her head, turning a bright red.

earlier...

"i need to get a student tutor, at least that's what my teacher told me." y/n mumbled to one of the workers in the teachers office, fiddling with her fingers nervously.

"alright, i actually have a few students that have volunteered in the past to tutor someone." the teacher said, turning towards to her desk, typing up a log of students from classes above y/n.

"actually, may i request—" y/n was quickly cut off by the teacher.

"oh, here we are! he can tutor you. i'll tell him that he's tutoring you before school ends." the teacher interrupted, writing a name on a sticky note and handing it to y/n.

y/n stared at the sticky note, eyes widening and a red shade covering her face.

"i don't want aito to be my tutor!" she said, flustered. oikawa's eyes darkened a bit, coughing up a few petals. but, he hid his disappointment quite well.

"isn't that good? you get to spend time with him." oikawa said, changing his tone to a more enthusiastic one, the one he used to everyone to seem joyful 24/7.

"yeah i guess, but..."

"but what?"

"it's gonna be so awkward." she whined. oikawa chuckled a bit, then rubbed her back.

"you'll be fine. so does he already know?" oikawa tried comforting y/n.

"yeah, he said we'll talk about it tomorrow." y/n nodded, straightening out her posture as she continued walking.

"oh, that's good. don't fail this year, or else you won't graduate with me." oikawa smiled, joking to lighten the mood as petals tumbled down onto the floor from both of them.

"shut up! i'm not gonna fail."
