y/n walked up to the school building, nervous yet excited at the same time. the letter she had written the night before. oikawa and y/n ended up falling asleep together on face time. he didn't say much about the letter after y/n had written it, they just talked about random things like they usually did.

y/n made her way to her class, taking a seat at her desk. took out the letter for a moment to read over it, making sure it wasn't just a bunch of nonsense piled together. she nodded in satisfaction, then tucked it away in her backpack as it was before. the whole day went by so quickly, and y/n couldn't decide if she was excited or dreading for the moment to come.

"y/n!" iwaizumi said loudly to her, trying to get her attention. y/n snapped out of her gaze and looked up at iwaizumi. they were standing at the door of her classroom while she was sitting at her desk, looking out the window. you quickly get up then rushed over to them.

"we called your name like three times." iwaizumi said, the three of them walking up to the roof.

"my bad, i kinda zoned out." y/n apologized, sitting down and putting her face in her hands.

"why?" iwaizumi asked, taking a sip out of a juice box he was holding.

"i wrote a letter to aito about... you know." y/n whispered, not wanting anyone to hear. iwaizumi nodded then took a quick glance to oikawa. lunch went as always, talking, laughing, then heading back to their classes.

y/n stood up as the bell rang, cleaning off her desk and putting all her belongings into her backpack. she walked to the bathroom first to prepare herself, whether she was going to get rejected or not. she splashed some water on her face, dried it off, then fixed up her hair. taking a deep breath, she took out the letter and held it in her hand as she left the bathroom to find aito.

a cold shiver went over her as she held her breath, poking her head into every hallway to find him. all the hallways she had checked were either empty, or had a few people quietly chatting among each other. y/n's heartbeat grew faster each time she checked. there were only a couple other places he could be. she had checked the last hallway in that wing, and sure enough, there he was. except one thing caught her eye. there was another girl there.

y/n slid to the corner, hiding herself from their line of sight, trying to eavesdrop into the conversation. she did not recognize the girl standing next to aito, but she was probably a girl in his class.

"can we finally hangout today, aito?" the girl had begged, pouting. y/n watched from a distance, seeing everything unfold.

"yeah, of course. i'm free today." aito nodded with a bright smile. the girl's expression brightened. she then went onto her toes, giving aito a kiss. aito grinned, wrapping an arm around her. that was the moment that y/n could feel her heart drop down to her stomach, almost to the ground. but for what reason?
