Letters To Fire And Water

" What does it say? " Kai asked his uncle. " Why do wanna know? Is it yours? Who is this from? " the uncle asked many questions. " Let us see it and maybe we can find out. " Nya said, snatching the letter from their uncle's hands. 

Nya turned to the back of the letter and Kai read it with her. It said " To Kai Smith and Nya Smith. Fire and Water. The boy and girl under the stairs. ". Nya looked around the letter to see who it was from.

" So, what is it? " their uncle asked them. " We don't know. " Kai said, looking at his sister. " It's probably junk mail. " their aunt said. Their uncle took the letter and threw it away. Kai and Nya left back to their room, under the stairs. 

" That was the letter that statue must have been talking about. " Nya said. " Strange..." Kai said. " And you said it was a myth. " Nya told her brother. " Well, I didn't know that the statue would move. " Kai said, getting into an argument with his sister. 

" Hey idiots, lunch time. " Liam said, opening Kai and Nya's door. " You're the idiot. " Kai said, pushing his cousin out of the way walking to the kitchen with Nya.

While they were eating a letter flew from outside the window, smacking Kai on his cheek. He picked it up and read it, it was the same letter. 

" Is that the same letter? " Nya asked Kai, looking at it. " Yeah..I think so. " Kai said, confused. Liam took the letter and gave it to his father. " I thought we got rid of this! " their uncle said when he read the letter.

 " We have no idea what the letter is- " Kai said until he was cut off by his sister. " Let us read it and maybe we'll find out what it is. " Nya said. Their uncle took the letter into the living room and threw it in the fireplace, it started to burn just like Kai and Nya's chance of safety.

This happened for weeks, everyday a new letter would arrive, their uncle would get rid of it everyday as well. It was that one day when they finally could get a letter.

Their uncle went over to the fire place to burn another letter and said " If I see one more then we are moving and never coming back here. ". As he was about to place the letter down, he saw something in the fireplace, soon letters fell all over him. 

Nya ran over and took one, Kai took one as well. While their uncle was covered in letters, Liam tried to get the letters from Kai and Nya trying to give them to Kai and Nya's uncle or aunt. Their aunt was trapped in the kitchen by a mountain of letters.

A few days later, they had their bags packed up ready to leave. " Finally, we'll get away from those letters. " their aunt said. " I bet more will come. " Nya whispered to her brother. " I can't believe they took the ones that we manged to get. " Kai said, angrily. " More will come. " Nya said, trying to make her brother feel better.

They drove off, far away from their old house. Not knowing what will happen next, their lives could change just by some letters.
