"Yes ma" They chorus
"Feyikemi, she's your cousin right?"
"Yes ma" Feyi nods
"Good, you can show her around and help her settle in okay?"
Feyi nods again smiling broadly
The principal leaves
"Welcome Diekolola" The teacher standing by the white board who looks like he will rather be anywhere else says "I'm Mr Franklin, your Computer teacher"
I nod
"You can go sit with your mates"
Feyi waves over to me and I walk between the swam of students sitted in front to sit on the empty chair beside her on her left, everybody is staring at me asif no they don't have work, I almost open my mouth to tell them to pay attention to teacher but I seal my mouth shut before I embarrass myself on my first day
"I couldn't believe it when grandma said you were starting here" She whispers so the teacher won't hear her
"Yeah, me either" I sigh
"Why did you leave Abuja though?"
"That one is a long story, Feyi"
"Okay sha, I'll show you around during break and introduce you to my friends, they've been wanting to meet you"
"Ehn?, Wanting to meet me?, How do they know about me?"
"I might have told them" She says sheepishly "I'm so excited"

"Babe, where have you been?" A dark girl with long black all-back asks as Feyi and I sit down at the table in the cafeteria, I recognize her from the class, she sits in front of Feyi
"I told you naw, I had to show my cousin around"
"Oh yeah I forgot" She turns to me "I'm Nmesoma, you're Dieko right?, Feyi has said a lot about you" She smiles
"Good things I hope" I smile too, she's nice I guess
I notice a girl sitting beside Nmesoma
"Hey" I wave, there's no harm in getting to know her right?
The girl hisses loudly and turns her face away
"Ahan Yemisi, what was that for?" Nmesoma asks
"Is it your mouth I used to hiss?" She retorts
"Yemi that's not nice, apologize" Feyi says
"Nobody should disturb me abeg, it's not by force to like someone" She eyes me
I open my mouth to insult her, who does she think she's treating like that?, Because I said let me just greet her, but Feyi's hand on mine under the table tells me otherwise, it's like a silent message, she's telling me to calm down and not say anything
I just take a sip of the cold fanta I had bought in the cafeteria, they didn't serve food, they only sold snacks
"This Literature will not kill me o" A girl groans sitting at the table, her black thick hair is neatly packed to the back, her skin is glowing, she's so fair, her eyes are light brown, ah, see fine babe, she's obviously an half caste, her hair is so full and long
It's days like this I wish I was fair
"Sorry babe" The guy who came with her kisses her hand, I didn't even notice when he sat down

"I'm Lanre" The boy says, his voice is deep, I love boys with deep voices "Feyi has been singing your name since last week"
I smile again careful not to shine my teeth too much, he's taken already Dieko, calm down
"Where is Timi?" Feyi asks
"I called him yesterday night, he said he isn't coming today" Lanre says
Yemisi laughs "He doesn't need to come to school, he will still pass no matter what"

"What school did you come from?" Bridget asks
It takes a minute to realize her question is directed at me
"Huh?, Me?"
"Noo, maybe you need hearing aids" Yemisi murmurs
This girl is trying me
"Yeah, you" Bridget ignores Yemisi
"Oh, Creative minds school"
"In Lagos?" Nmesoma asks
"No, Abuja"
"Wow, why did you move here from Abuja then?"
"Long story" I manage to say, I really didn't want to say the truth
"Oh okay, I feel we're going to be really good friends, you seem cool" Bridget shrugs
So far, she's the nicest of them all
"Yeah me too" I agree, deep down I know they are all nice, Lanre, Bridget and Nmesoma I mean, Hopefully Timi would be fine like Lanre too
But this Yemisi ehn, she should better not cross her boundaries because the day I will give it to her ehn, she won't even expect it
