Prelude

You were a Grounder, part of the Trikru clan; but, like Lincoln, you didn't always agree with the ways of the others. In fact, being Lincoln's little sister, you adopted many of his values and beliefs. After some deliberation, Lincoln finally convinced you to recede from your clan and join him and Octavia in Arkadia. The Sky People, understandably, were wary of you at first. But with a lot of coaxing from Octavia they welcomed you into their home.

You had officially earned their trust when you helped them rescue their people from Mount Weather. You were friendly with many members of Skaikru, mainly Octavia, Monty, and Harper; but you had a giant soft spot for one member of Skaikru in particular:

Jasper Jordan.

The bitter, cynical, broken, drunk, shell-of-a-man Jasper Jordan.

At first you disliked him, mainly because he was cold and wanted nothing to do with anyone. He was always drinking and brooding and causing trouble, traits that you didn't necessarily care for. What you didn't know, however, was that he had lost someone he cared about deeply. It wasn't until Monty explained what happened that you began to see Jasper differently.

He wasn't just a drunken asshole. He was someone who had suffered from a very traumatic past. He was someone who was broken, filled with sorrow. He was someone like you.

One day you had decided that you would try to talk to him. He was drinking, as he always ws, but you sat down next to him anyway. He glared at you as you began to speak. "That shit won't make the pain go away, you know?" you said.

"It does though." He scoffed.

"Not in the long haul. It's just a temporary fix. It'll only cause more pain."

He took a swig from his glass, "What do you know, Grounder?"

"Trust me, I know a lot about pain and suffering."

"Enlighten me."

You told him about all the people you had lost, including your parents and best friend. You told him how you had watched your father drink himself to death over the loss of your mother. You told him how you had never once stopped fighting for your life. He softened up after you told him this, realizing that you were just as broken as he was.

After that day the two of you were practically inseparable. You had bonded over your grief and PTSD, and Jasper felt that you were the only one he could talk to about his issues. You tried your best to give him advice, even though you were struggling yourself. Still, whenever you had free time you could be found with Jasper, engaging in deep conversations with him; or sometimes you would just sit in silence together. Just the knowledge that you were close was enough to put the two of you at ease.
