Oh, god I'm so embarrassed! Why was everyone laughing at me for just saying hello? I just wanted to fit in more. And then... Neri made those comments...
I ran to the bedroom that Kris and I shared and flopped onto the bed with a sigh, curling up into a ball. I just wanted to disappear right about now.
"Hey, you okay?" Kris came over and laid down on the bed next to me. I shook my head, not daring to lift my head to meet his gaze.
"That was so embarrassing, Kris. You guys laughed at me, and Neri talked about you having a dirty mind... I hate that my sister can read minds!"
A pair of arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me closer. Soft lips pressed themselves onto the top of my head.
"Hey, we weren't laughing at you to be mean. We want you to understand that you don't need to change yourself for us. I love you just the way you are."
"Really?" I looked up to see Kris with a small grin on his face.
"Yeah. And you wanna know what I was thinking? I was thinking about how adorable you are and how much I wanted to kiss you. I'm sorry you had to be embarrassed because of that."
I blushed a little.
"I-it's alright. I guess I just overreacted a little bit..."
"So, are you okay now?"
I nodded, then wrapped my arms around him.
"Good. Then I can do this" He leaned in and kissed the tip of my nose. I smiled. "Now, let's go back to the others."
"Okay."
