Logan was smart.
After hearing the interaction between his mother and her former friend, he immediately started research. He logged into a VPN, went to his favourite coffee shop and began to research.
He cross referenced some of the more gay friendly places to live, that are also a cheep living space.
"What the hell are you doing?" Remy asked casually, walking up to Logan.
"Oh, salutations, Remy."
"Sup." He said. He put down Logan's cup of coffee. "What are you doing?"
"Trying to find a place to live." He said, adjusting his glasses.
"Why?"
"My mother kicked out her childhood friend for being a homosexual. Meaning the probability that when I come out they let me stay home is very low." Logan said, not looking away from his laptop.
Remy let out a small laugh before sitting across from Logan. He turned the laptop around and opened a new tab.
"What are you doing?" Logan asked, annoyed. Remy chuckled, typing quickly into the keyboard. He hit enter before turning the laptop back around. "What's The Lams Hotel?"
"It's where I've been staying for the past like... 2 weeks? They provide a place to stay for people with bad home lives until they can get up on their feet. A lot of LGBTQ+ people go there, so they provide like binders and haircuts and stuff. They help people find jobs too, ones that are okay with LGBTQ," Remy explained "And it's run by an adorable gay couple. They're legit goals." He added. He clicked on a link for their website.
"This looks amazing. I mean, the website is 'sub par,' but the idea of this is fascinating." Logan said, scrolling and reading quickly. "I never thought I'd say this, but thank you so much, Remy." Remy laughed at his comment.
"No problem babes," He said, "So are you gonna come out first or are you just gonna leave like I did?"
"I'm gonna come out-- why would you just leave?" Remy blinked.
"My moms were lesbians, Lo..." Remy started before Logan interrupted him.
"Don't call me that."
"I know John's opinion on gay people." Remy finished. Logan nodded. "And they were family too, so, ya know." Remy said. He stood back up. "I should get back to work. Text me after my shift if you want to talk more about it." He said before walking off.
Logan scrolled on the site. It wasn't great, it kind of looked like an early 2002 website, but it did its purpose; it explained how they worked and what they did. They put their address too, meaning Logan had a place to go.
So he set up the plan, ready to come out to his mother and father.
Logan looked at his packed bag. Clothes, shoes, money, spare glasses, a few books, his laptop and phone. That should be enough. He looked around below his window. He had already checked this. He gently tossed it out in the event that he needed it. Don't worry, he tucked his electronics in softly so that no matter how it landed, they wouldn't break. Plus, even if they did, he knew how to fix it.
There was a knock on the door.
"Logan. It's time for dinner." His mother's calm voice rang through his ears. He was nervous. He adjusted his glasses nervously. He walked out of his bedroom to the dining room.
"Good evening, Logan." David, Logan's father said. Logan nodded before taking his seat.
"Good evening, father," Logan responded insincerely. Not that it sounded any different.
