Andi-Centric Filler

AN- So technically this is filler, but I would recommend reading it. It's not super important to the plot, but it does come up at one point. And it explains why Andi was crying. It takes place over a the span of a few days. Also, the time line may be a bit confusing, I'll try to make it clear.

Andi didn't usually take a shift this late. It felt strange. Usually, Amir (one of Emile's dads) would take a shift right now and Andi would go home with his boyfriend. They'd eat dinner together, sometimes work a bit, then cuddle each other to sleep.

He sighed and pushed another paper aside, wiping his face gently with his jacket sleeve. He sniffled and pulled out another piece of paper. He'd gone through at least 7 drafts already, all getting into at least a third paragraph, but none of them were good enough for him.

His pen scritched against the paper. Scritched isn't a real word, but it's the best way to explain the noise. Now for some unnecessary details that are interesting to me for some reason.

Andi's pen of choice was a sparkly, teal gel pen. But he's left handed. And gel pen smudges so impossibly easy. So he settled for a regular, but purple pen. Sadly, this resulted in the pen flowing a bit when tears landed on the paper.

"Uh..." He heard. He looked up, seeing two people. They looked incredibly similar, but one had a faint moustache and the other didn't. They were wearing green and red. Like the Mario Bros. or Christmas.

"Oh! Sorry! I didn't know if anyone else was coming today a-and most of our guests are attending the movie that we're hosting. I'm Andi, he/him, how can I help you?" Andi wiped his eyes before putting his glasses back on.

He covered the letter with the keyboard with a nervous smile. But he handled the guests nicely, especially given his situation.

In the end, he was never satisfied with the letters and had to go home. He tucked them into a folder and put it in the back of the file cabinet. When he got home, he tiredly joined his boyfriend in bed.

Dominic turned and cuddled into Andi.

"I missed you... Why'd you have to take another shift?" He asked quietly. Andi smiled and cuddled into Dominic's chest.

"I needed to take care of things. Might take a few more days though..." Andi said, biting his lip in distress. Dominic pouted.

"How am I supposed to sleep without you?" He asked.

"I... Sorry," Andi said, feeling super guilty.

"It's okay, Di-Di. You're here now and that's all that matters," He said. He kissed the top of Andi's head. "I love you."

"I..." Andi yawned. "Love you too..." He mumbled, nuzzling Dominic's chest again.

The next day, Andi took another late shift. He felt bad for his boyfriend, but he needed to do this. And Amir deserved the extra time to spend with his family, his husband. Andi and Dominic weren't married, so he shouldn't feel bad... right?

Despite that, he looked over his papers, seeing the emotional words spilled into them.

"Hey, Andi. What'cha doin'?" Roman asked. Andi looked up.

"Oh, I, uh..." He swallowed in shame and looked down. "I'm writing a letter to my boyfriend."

"Long distance?" Roman asked, confused. Andi looked up again.

"No, we have apartment. One, together." He sighed. "Sorry."

"It's okay. How many pages is it?" Roman asked with a small laugh.
