".eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess."

A man used to eat much, but when he embraced Islam, he started eating less. That was mentioned to the Prophet (ﷺ) who then said, "A believer eats in one intestine (is satisfied with a little food) and a Kafir eats in seven intestines (eats much)."(bukhari)

If we ask tips for weight loss many nutritionists or diet experts will tell you to cut back on sugars and starches, or carbohydrates some will tell you to just become a vegetarian or some will tell you to go low-carb and high fat diet. According to some dieticians, fats make you gain weight and increase the risk of various diseases. Yet there are others who say eating fats everyday is great for hair, skin and immunity.

If I start following what they say to be honest I think I would end up being all confused. As I belong to a desi family I can't cut out my carbs or eat salad ( there is no way I am even eating salad as my lunch/dinner)  so I suggest you to eat in moderation

As a girl I can say we are pretty self conscious about ourselves and how we look ( even tho we shouldn't be too self conscious )

Moderation:

I came across this verse or line that In quran allah swt says ".eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess.'' This tells us that we should eat and drink but not too much. We should just stop when we are full.

"No man fills a container worse than his stomach. A few morsels that keep his back upright are sufficient for him. If he has to, then he should keep one-third for food, one-third for drink and one-third for his breathing." (tirmidhi)

"And eat and drink but waste not by extravagance, certainly He (Allâh) likes not Al-Musrifûn (those who waste by extravagance)"[al-A'raaf 7:31]

It says in al-Mawsoo'ah al-Fiqhiyyah (25/332): Part of the etiquette of eating is to be moderate in eating and not to fill the stomach.

The most that is acceptable in this regard is for the Muslim to divide his stomach into three parts: one third for food, one third for drink and one third for air. When we say one third of the stomach, it means limiting oneself to one third of what one would have to eat one's fill, and it was said that this may be done by limiting it to one half of a mudd. But all-Nafraawi favoured the former view, because of differences among people. All of this applies to one who will not become weak as a result of eating less than his fill, otherwise it is better for him to eat that which will give him energy to worship and will be physically appropriate for him.

So I will suggest you to eat in a moderation.Eat larger meals of your favorite not-super-healthy foods less frequently (burger, fries) that's what I like to do but it totally depends on what works best for you .

Follow the sunnah

1:start with bismillah.

2:Eat and drink with right hand.

3:Sit straight while eating.

4:Eat with three fingers  (i.e. thumb, index finger and the middle finger) – eat a small portion.

5:Eat together with families .

6:Lick your fingers after eating.

7: Finish everything on your plate  (so only take the much you can eat).

Workout:

Yup you gotta workout. When I say workout I don't mean that you just go and sign up for gym membership. You can just simply do some easy workouts at your home or follow some sunnah's which I came across on net.

1)Walking – Muhammad(ﷺ) used to walk at a fast pace. You can make a habit of brisk walking 30 minutes every day.

2) Swimming – Umar (RA) used to encourage people to teach their children swimming

The Prophet (s) was a very physically fit person. Three hadiths substantiate this:

✧In a hadith reported in Sahih Bukhari, Aisha (ra) stated that, "I raced with the Prophet and I beat him. Later, when I had put on some weight, we raced again and he won. Then he said, " This cancels that (referring to the previous race)."

✧The Prophet (s) once wrestled with a man called Rukhanah who was well known for his strength, throwing him down more than once. (reported by Abu Dawud.

✧He himself used to walk at a fast pace and those who walked with him had difficulty keeping with him. In a hadith reported by Ali (r) in Tirmidhi, he described Muhammad's (s) vigorous way of walking: "When he walked, because of the speed and force of the legs, it seemed as if he was descending from a high place." Abu Huraira in another hadith in Tirmidhi narrated that, "I did not see anyone walk faster than him, as is the earth folded for him. A few moments ago he would be here, and then there. We found it difficult to keep pace when we walked with him and he walked at his normal pac

Prophet Muhammad advised his followers, to work, to be energetic, and to start their day early, all of which are conditions for a healthy body.
