Salah is Falah

So few days back I was searching for something in my storeroom and I ended up finding an article or magazine filled with amazing  stories . I thought why not share these stories with you guys as they were really great stories and they had really great morals .

Salman was a good natured boy with many positive attributes but one thing was not good in him . He would delay his salah and would always give excuses to himself for not offering it on time . But then he got to know about the connection between salah and falah .

Let's hear it from salman himself : 

Before getting to know the connection between salah and falah i always thought the same thought fives times a day " It is time for salah and mum will start advising me right away to offer salah . I don't understand why is she always concerned about my prayers only. why doesn't she notice my other exceptional personality traits ? sometimes I wonder is islam all about salah only?" 

I am such a good boy . I always complete my homework on time and respect elders and am always helping others. The reason for not wanting to offer salah was unknown to me as well and I don't know why I always felt the urge to skip it . I would be always looking to sneak chances to leave my salah . 

one day I was busy with my homework when my mother called me . I thought she had to ask me about my Zuhr prayer but instead , she told me to bring thing from the bakery for some guests who were about to visit us . I was happy as I could now present an excuse to leave my salah . On my way , I even felt bad about leaving my prayer but then I told myself that I was helping my mother and this will also make Allah swt happy .On my return , mom got busy and I furnished myself reason after reason to leave all the prayers as I was taking care of the little children of our guest .But then at night my mother asked me about my salah . 

I gathered my courage and said " I don't know why you are always asking me to offer salah , I don't feel like offering it and I was so busy today ."  My mom seemed really angry but she suppressed her fury and said " Salman dear , know one thing salah is falah ." 

As I was growing up I was getting more and more rebellious and therefore I started lying to my mum about my salah . When she would ask me about it I would say " of course , I have offered prayers as salah is falah ," and she would swell up from pleasure and told everyone about the change in me . My magical sentence if salah is falah had done wonders that the frequency of questioning on salah by my mum decreased ti a mini-mum and then in some days ' time she wouldn't even ask me 

As I told you that I was growing up so I was on the sensitive point of my educational life and thus was spending wholesome time on studies .When the other boys of my age were buys in the streets, I was in my room with piles of books. I was very confident of my preparation that I would pass my exams with flying colours . My first paper was 27th January 2015 and the reason I remember it so well is because that day I got to know why salah is falah .

I got stuck in a traffic jam and got late . I was to show my admit card but panic made me blind and I spent twenty minutes finding it . I was half an hour late and then when I saw the paper I was blank . I don't know what I did but I was practically crying at the end and didn't feel like going back home . When the following words of Azan caught my ears :

" hayya alas salah , hayya alal falah " 

I stood like a mound of stone with tears rolling down my cheeks and I entered the Masjid . The Iman was getting ready for prayers when I asked him what was the connection between salah and falah . 

He said three simple sentences : 

♛ Salah brings a person closer to Allah swt and closeness to Allah swt is falah .

♛ Salah solves our worldly problems and that is falah . 

♛ Salah leads to Jannah and that is the ultimate falah . 

I prayed and I cried and I prayed again . From that day , I got the secret of falah in world and hereafter, that is salah. 

I forgot to tell you that I secured the second position just because of fewer marks in my first paper , but I was happy  as those fewer marks taught me the lesson falah .

Falaḥ :  Is the Arabic word for success, happiness and well-being. In Islamic context, according to the Qur'an, actions such as conforming to Allah's commands, establishing the Zakat, not taking intoxicants and not gambling will all lead to falāḥ.
