Chapter 9

Zack

We are currently following Tomika. She then turns and heads towards the bad part of town. We follow her but lose track of her. We go in her general direction, but Freddy and Summer keep complaining. They go home and I decide to keep going. I keep walking around until I'm lost. Just then someone puts an icy cold blade under my neck.

?: GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY!!!

Z: Uh-I-I-u-uhh-uh

??: STOP!!!

I look up to see Tomika.

?: And if I don't?

He presses the knife closer into my neck. I can't breathe. Suddenly, there's a bang and he falls. I look at Tomika and see her holding a gun. She helps me up and I realized that my neck is bleeding.

T: Let's get that cleaned up.

She takes me to a mansion. She shouts for everyone to get out. A bunch of people wearing Black Devil jackets get out and we go inside. She cleans up my cut and gives me a glass of water.

T: Here.

Z: Thanks. Who were those people?

T: No one.

Z: You can trust me.

T: Can I?

Z: Yes.

Tomika

He says I can trust him. I guess I can't keep this forever. I just don't want it to happen again.

T: Fine. Those people were a part of my gang. Please don't tell anyone about this.

Z: Got it. How?

T: Yeah. I'm the gang leader of the Black Devils.

Z: How?

T: It was inherited. My parents gave it to me.

Z: Where are your parents.

T: They died in a shootout. They were trying to help these people when they were shot from behind. I saw them be killed. I took the gun and shot the murderers.

I have sudden flashbacks of the day and I start crying. This is the second time. I'm not used to this feeling. Zack pulls me into a hug. I hug back.

Z: I'm so sorry.

T: Don't be. You didn't kill them.

Just then Babe and Trip walk in. They start screaming.

B: YOU WERE CRYING!?!

Tr: WHAT HAPPENED??!

B: DO I NEED TO KILL SOMEONE?!?!

They finally notice Zack.

Tr: Why are you here? Do you know what happened?

Z: I was almost mugged. She saved me.

B: Why was she crying though?

Z: I asked her about her parents and she explained and started crying.

B: Come here.

I rest my head on Babe's lap. They keep talking. After a while, I cut my wrists and start cooking some food for everyone. I give them their food and I just go to my room without eating. Someone comes in my room without knocking.

T: What do you want?

Z: Why aren't you eating?

T: I'm not hungry.

Z: You didn't eat at lunch yesterday, you're not eating now, and I bet you didn't have breakfast. What's going on?

T: It's nothing.

Z: Are you starving yourself?

T: No.

Zack

Tomika is hiding something from me. I think she's depressed.

Z: You can trust me.

T: No

I lifted her chin so she would look at me. She looked so cute... KWAN! STOP!

Z: Please. You can trust me. I don't want you hurt.

I catch a glance at her wrists.

Z: You're cutting.

T: Fine. I'm cutting and starving myself. You happy?

Z: No. You're hurting yourself.

T: Why do you care?

Z: Why wouldn't I care? You don't deserve this.

T: How would you know? Why don't I deserve this? How would you know what I do or do not deserve?

Z: You do not deserve this.. Please. Don't do this.

Tr: What's going on?

Z: She's starving and cutting herself.

B: Why?

Z: She say she deserves it.

B: Really?

She just nods her head.

B: You don't deserve this. Please stop doing this to yourself.

She just turns around and falls asleep.

B: Can you stay with her tonight? I have work. I trust you.

Z: Sure.

TIME SKIP

I was watching Tomika while she was sleeping. I may or may not have developed a crush on her. Just then she shoots up from her spot and starts hyperventilating.

Z: What's wrong?

T: ...
