This is a long chapter I am SO sorry but I promise it's worth it (in my opinion). After about an hour at the party, Jungkook leaves. He says he forgot something important at the little cafe he works at and has to go get it.
The worst part about that is you don't know anyone other than him and Mika, and Mika is nowhere to be seen.
You don't know what to do, and you don't want to leave without telling Mika, so you sit on one of the couches in front of a TV on the left side of the room. The couch is brown and leather and so, so comfy.
You pull out your phone to find something to do.
"Having fun all alone?"
The couch dips beside you. Someone is sitting next to you. You turn off your phone and look up in annoyance, only to be met with piercing, stoney eyes.
"J-Jimin," you say, suddenly very aware of everything you're doing, like how you sit and how your face moves and how sweaty your palms are. "Um- yeah Jungkook just left, so... um..."
You notice how close Jimin is to you. He's close enough that you could see any one of his flaws, if he had any. Which by the looks of it, he doesn't.
"Do you wanna come meet some of my friends?" He asks. He wears a heart-warming smile, and you're quite sure he hasn't taken it off all evening.
"U-um, I'm just uh- I'm waiting for-"
Jimin takes your hand and stands up, pulling you up off the couch. "Come on," he says. "They won't bite, I promise."
"I might," you mutter. Jimin laughs, which makes his smile widen and show his teeth, and it's honestly the cutest thing you've ever seen. "Let's avoid that," he says. "I don't want to take anyone to the hospital today."
You nod, grinning and blushing.
"I..." you mumble. "Listen, I'm not actually lesbian."
Jimin halts in his tracks and looks at you curiously, eyes serious, smile gone. "You're not?"
"No. Jungkook was just... messing around. It's um. It's an inside joke, really."
Jimin searches your face for anything that could tell him you're not actually serious. And then his smile is back, but it's different. Instead of a genuine, happy smile, it's a dark, sneaky smirk.
"Well in that case," he says. "We should get to know each other."
A twinge of nervousness pulls at your gut. "You-you think so?"
Jimin nods. "I'm interested in you," he says. "Jungkook told me about you."
You purse your lips. "What did he say?"
"Oh, things. Maybe we can get into that later. Want to go somewhere?"
You're captured. Captured by his soft hand wrapped in yours. Captured by his bewitching eyes, which are soft gray, but also guarded steel. Captured by the fact that he is the only person in this room that you know, meaning he is safety from being lost in a crowd of unfamiliar people.
This boy is thoroughly enchanting, yet you don't want to go with him. You don't, because he is a boy, and boys usually only want to be alone with a girl they just met for one thing.
On a normal day, you would summon just the right amount of heat to your fingertips and burn him, to get him to let go of you. Or you would follow him and wait for danger to arrive before you can fight him with your hot-hands.
But this isn't a normal day. You haven't had a normal day for a little while, actually. You're afraid of the dangerous risk that comes with using your powers.
