8. childhood enemies -> lovers (part 1)

Manik and Nandini- the whole world knows there's one thing that's common in them- hatred!

She hates him and he hates her. It's just a mutual thing between them.
It's not a hate story for one day or two, it's right from their childhood!! Do you want to know from where and when it all began? Jog in !

Manik is 2 years elder to Nandini and they both go to the same School not only that they live in the same area and hence travel in the same bus! To add more twists to their already twisted life, Nandini is the naughty one but manik is not that quite kid but still not as naughty as nandini.

It all began from day 1 of their meet that is when Nandini is in 3rd grade and manik in 5th grade. Until then they lived their lives in a peaceful manner as they both were away from each other. Manik moved back to Mumbai after his father got transferred from Nagpur. Nandini meanwhile is popularly known as the don of the bus! Even though she's still a small girl, she makes sure that no one does injustice to her and her girls squad!

Injustice seems a big word for a small girl isn't it! Nothing big as such but their bus had a small rule that all girls are to be seated in front row and all boys are to be seated behind. That seems to bother her a lot. I mean why not? Why this girl boy thing even in such a small age for a school bus?!
She always fights for her rights and made sure that last row belongs to her gang.

But one day....
Nandini was not allowed to sit in her as a big boy already took her seat!
Not big boy as such he's after all a 5th grader but he seemed Tall to Nandini.
She noticed that he's new to the bus andso decided to throw him out of her backseat.

Nandini- excuse me Mr big boy. This is our seat and you may shift to the other seat please.

Manik- but I heard that back seat is for boys and I am elder to you seeing your size. So you go sit in front.

Nandini- what?! You are soo bad! Just move. I need to sit in my seat. The bus will start soon.

Manik- yeah even I am saying the same. I am already seated. Find yourself a seat and move away from here.

Then what Nandini did surprised everyone. She calmly sat on manik's Lap and made her girls gang sit on other boys the same way as well!!!!

Manik- what the hell?!

Nandini- I warned you didn't I ?

Manik- but you never told me that you will sit like this! On my lap?!

Nandini- see I told you I will sit in my seat on which I am seated already.

Manik- but stupid girl you are sitting on me!!

Nandini- below you I have my seat so I don't care.

What will happen when both head strong people meet?

They continued sitting in their own positions.
Soon their stops came and both got down out of the bus giving killer glances to each other.

Meanwhile in Nandini's home:
Nandini stomped angrily to her home.

Nandini's mom: nandu my kiddo how was your day? Why do I feel like you are upset?

Nandini- coz I am angry mom. You know ma today in bus a boy came from no where and took my favourite back seat mom! How dare he?

Nandini's mom: what did you do in return?

Nandini- I didn't let go off my seat! I sat in his lap!

Nandini's mom: what? Why do you do that Nandini?

Nandini- he was soo rude ma to shut his mouth I did it.

Nandini's mom: so if he does this everyday what will you do nandu?

Nandini- I will sit on him everyday ma I don't care.

Saying so she went to her room leaving a worried mother behind.
She freshened up and came back to eat snacks.

Nandini's mom: nandu I have to solution to your problem kiddo.

Nandini- what's it ma? If you are advising me to be kind polite and all I am not listening to you.

Nandini's mom: no my dear. See you know right I don't want my girl to get involved in any fights.

Nandini- yes. So what's your solution ma

Nandini's mom: you know my friend Nyonika right!

Nandini: yes ma Nyonika aunty she's the best. She always gives me cupcakes.

Nandini's mom: yes. She has recently moved back to our city and is staying nearby only. She has a son and I think he's probably elder to you. You be with him he will protect you.

Nandini: ma I don't need anyone to protect me.

Nandini's mom: he is not going to protect you. If that boy see's you with another boy bigger than your age he will be scared. See he's also scared and your purpose will also be solved.

Nandini: okay ma I will but remember I don't need anyone to protect me.

Nandini's mom: he will be your best friend Nandini just see. And we will give Nyonika a visit today evening. I want to help her in sorting things in their home. I will also give them dinner from our home.

Nandini- okay ma I am eager to meet nyo aunty.

Same way in manik's house he tells about the rude arrogant girl he met in bus and shared his thoughts on how he wished to never ever meet her.
Nyonika was surprised to see her ever calming son show soo much anger on someone else. She anyway decided to ignore him and tells him about her best friend shanu coming over to help her.

Manik- ma... Is shanu aunty really coming here?!

Nyonika- yes manik why?

Manik- you know right she makes the best aaloo paratha!

Nyonika- I know she told she will bring you today as well. And manik she called and told me that someone troubled her in bus today. Just be with her always okay. She might become your best friend! She is such a sweet girl who can melt anyone's heart away with a mere smile.

Meanwhile shanu comes home and dramatically hugs manik. Nandini just straightly went to nyo aunty hugging the life out of her.

Nandini- nyo aunty, did you make me cupcakes?

Shanu- Nandini she just moved here. Don't demand things from her.

Nyonika- shanu she's just a kid. Nandini I am sorry that I didn't make you cupcakes but to compensate it I have bought ice cream.

Nandini- you are the best nyo aunty.

All time Nandini's back was facing manik and he had no clue who just ran to her home and made plans to eat his ice cream.
Then only it struck him that she is shanu aunty's daughter.

Nyonika- okay nandu meet my son manik. I don't know why despite us being best friends you both didn't meet yet.

Nandini turned to see manik and all the colours drained off her face.

Manik and Nandini at same time: you?!?!
