During the whole incident at Alan's table, Morgan Crawford and Nicholas Brown both had taken notice of Dan making glances at Kyle and Dan talking together. From both of their outward appearances, everyone could tell they were more well to do with how they were dressed. The arrival on Earth for some Terran families saw the advantages of exploiting their unique talents for monetary gain while still well below the eyes under the Terran High Council.
"Did you see that?" Nicholas asked, looking astonished.
"Yeah, I did."
"I've never seen anyone with that level of skill. You think he'd join our group?"
"I don't know. Let's wait. See what else he can do," Morgan said, staring Dan down looking deep in thought.
Sarah had made it back to her table sitting down next to her friend Grace finding Jason walking by.
"So what were you doing with those freaks?" he said.
"Making sure they were fine."
"You know what they did me?!" Jason said indignantly.
"Whatever it was you probably deserved it."
"Hey, I thought we had a relationship."
"Going out once doesn't qualify as a relationship and besides you made me pay for half," Sarah said, cringing her face.
"So know you'd rather go out with that Terran?" Jason questioned, pointing back.
"Would be a lot better than ever going out with you again."
"Yeah Jason, "Grace said. "They aren't bad people."
"I'd still watch out for them."
"I think I can take care of myself," Sarah replied.
Aaron, one of Jason's friends and teammates walked by patting Jason on the shoulder.
"Come on, Jason," he said. "We gotta go."
"See you at the bonfire."
Jason walked away looking smug feeling rebuffed.
"So what are they like?" Grace said turning to Sarah.
"They were friendly. I invited them to the bonfire."
"You invited them to the bonfire?" she said looking surprised. "Are you sure you aren't inviting trouble?"
"They deserve just as much right to be included just like the rest of us. I didn't think there was any harm."
"I heard their planet suffered some kind of global disaster which made them leave their world and come here."
"Yeah, although they didn't look alien to me. They all appeared human."
