During Saturday afternoon hours before the school's yearly Homecoming dance, at Jaden's home Morgan, Nicholas and Tyler sat together with Jaden presiding over them in his father's study.
"Dan Tracer has bailed," Morgan said angrily. "He caught on to everything. What are we supposed to do now?"
"I was afraid this might happen."
"But wasn't he essential?"
"We tried our best but this doesn't change anything," Jaden replied, opening his father's safe. "We are still keeping to the plan. Tonight at Homecoming."
"Are you sure you want to be handling that, Jaden?" Tyler asked, seeing him holding onto the obelisk in his hand. "Do you even know what it does?"
"Doesn't hurt to have something extra," he said. "All I know is that it's a weapon. It's time we show the humans who's in charge around here now."
As they had all been starting to talk Anna stood outside hidden but suddenly flummoxed by what she was hearing. She and Christian had their own secret way when she knew his father probably wouldn't have approved of them sneaking time together in his room so instead of coming in through the front entrance they had chosen the French doors. However, she started to question if she ever really truly knew him at all. Anna quickly but quietly left getting back in her car and sped off but only after she was well down the street so as not to be heard.

Kyle decided it was time to bring everyone together picking up Sarah at her house to meet at the diner to talk about the current situation. They all sat around a corner booth as Kyle began to tell his story of Christian and now as he was looking to call him, Jaden, and his connection to the Terran organization. Once he was done talking Sarah was left speechless.
"Oh God," Sarah said.
"What worries me the most now is my father said there were demonstrations."
"So he's been hiding in plain sight all this time?"
"I knew there something probably off about those guys on your team," Grace said. "They were way too chummy with you."
"What are you going to do?"
"My father wants me to do nothing," Kyle said, shrugging his shoulders. "Let the Terran authorities and the council take care of it."
"But we can't see idly by, Kyle?" Alan said. "If they are that dangerous to the general public, human and Terran alike."
"He's right," Dan replied. "I let them deceive me into thinking what they were doing was right. They can't just get away with what they did. You think the adults are going to have a better handle on it than us?"
Immediately Sarah's phone went off and picked it up listening to Anna sounding upset. "What?" she said, "We're coming over there."
"What's up?" Kyle asked.
"There's no time," Sarah said, getting up quickly. "That was Anna, she didn't sound good over the phone. We have to go see her. She says she overheard him and the other guys talking at his house."
"I'm sorry, I am part of the Homecoming committee," Grace said, following them. "I have to get back home and get ready and get back to the school."
"We understand," Kyle said. "Will all go see what Anna has to say."
***************
Kyle, Dan, Alan, and Sarah stood outside together in front of Anna's front door. Sarah reached down ringing her doorbell.
"You really think she will help us?" Dan asked.
"We have no other choice," Kyle said. "We have to track him down."
They slowly heard the door open seeing Anna looking apprehensive.
"Anna, what's going on?" Sarah asked.
"Where's Jaden?" Kyle asked, "Where is he right now?"
"Jaden?" Anna asked.
"I mean Christian. Please, we need to know," Kyle said. "Christian is dangerous. I'm sorry but you've been lied to. He's not who he says he is."
"I feel I know," Anna said, sighing. "I had tried to see him but he and the boys from the surfing team were talking. Talking about showing the humans who's in charge?"
"He's like us, Anna, a Terran, and we think he is planning something bad but we don't know what it is."
Anna could see the look in Kyle's eyes that he was serious and this wasn't a mere joke.
"They talked about going to the school dance."
"Makes sense," Dan replied. "A lot of students and teachers in one place."
"Whatever you do," Anna said, her eyes welling up with tears. "In spite of everything I feel I still love him."
"I'm sorry, Anna, we will do what we can," Kyle replied.
Sarah reached out giving Anna a comforting hug before she followed behind letting Kyle and the group lead the way.
