"How?" He growled angrily as he clenched his fists. I looked over my shoulder and saw the desk completely smashed against the wall, broken in half. The temperous wolf in me was about to snap but I held him in control and inhaled deeply before replying.

"Listen, I don't like it any more than you do, for me it's probably worse. But this is not a good time to be fucking aggressive, okay?" I hissed through gritted teeth. Finn narrowed his eyes at me but then let go of his aggressive stance. He turned away from me and ran his hand through his hair to tug it in frustration.

"So, you just let them take her?" He asked with a low voice. Elijah growled and I was about to attack him when he turned back to face me and I could see the regret on his face. "Sorry, of course you would do anything to protect her." He apologized with a nod.

It felt so wrong to talk to my mate's former boyfriend, but I had no choice than to ask him for help.

"Finn, the reason that I'm here is because I can't get her alone. I mean, I don't even know where she is."

"And you want my pack to help." He finished with a frown. I nodded and pressed my lips together to refrain myself from saying anything stupid.

Finn sighed and I could see him considering it, torn up whether to save Autumn or not. He pinched the bridge of his nose but then nodded. "I'll help you, but do you have at least something like a plan?"

I hesitated before shaking my head, "Not really, I just know who took her, that's all." Finn groaned in frustration and stalked over to the door, motioning for me to follow. I walked over to the door and we left the room. Along the way we passed a guy who Finn told to clean up the desk in his office. The guy whimpered when he heard Finn's aggressive tone and immediately left to do his job. I frowned when I saw how Finn treated his pack.

This was Autumn's ex? Innocent, harmless, sweet Autumn had a dickhead boyfriend?

We arrived at a large hall with a long table and a whiteboard at the head of it. I squinted my eyes to look what the words said, something about the neighbour packs.

I turned to Finn and realized he had moved to the other side of the room and was staring at a photo hanging on the wall. It seemed to be of the old Alpha.

"Is that your father?" I asked hesitantly, to which Finn nodded but he kept silent.

"So you know who took her?" Finn asked, breaking the silence.

"Yeah, the Red Eclipse pack, the Alpha holds a grudge against me." I debated with myself whether to tell him the whole story or not.

"I kind of killed his mate," I mumbled under my breath. Finn turned around with a look of disbelief sprawled across his face, eyes wide and jaw unhinged. "You killed his mate ?"

I rubbed the back of my neck uncomfortably and averted my gaze. "Yeah," I said as I thought of a quick way to explain the situation, but before I could even tell him my motives I was thrown against the wall. "Oomph," I gasped but was quickly cut off by Finn's arms pressing my throat.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you right now to protect my mate," he spat through gritted teeth. But his aggression and protectiveness blinded him and he didn't realize that I had still both my hands free to use. So in a reflex I punched him in the stomach, causing him to bend over and gasp for air.
