"𝓟𝓻𝓲𝓷𝓬𝓮 𝓒𝓪𝓵𝓾𝓶 𝔀𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭 𝓵𝓲𝓴𝓮 𝓽𝓸 𝓼𝓮𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾."

The air in the room was thick. You could cut the tension with a knife almost, Calum sat at the table in front of me holding a piece of paper, numerous words scribbled onto it.

His gaze moved up to meet my perplexed face, although the position he was in did not move. A low sigh came from his mouth, before he spoke the first words to me.

"You're father, has passed away."

It felt like I had been kicked in the stomach, all the air in my lungs leaving my body. I hadn't noticed the tears falling down my face until Calum grabbed the small white handkerchief from his pocket and held it out for my to use.

He's the one who brought me here, I could've saved my father, I could have been there with him. Instead of taking the cloth held up to me, I brought my hand up to meet his face.

A large red hand print was the result of my impulsive decision. "You pack quite a punch." Calum roused, his hand held up to his face, stroking the red mark I had left.

"I could have saved him." I spoke softly at first, but the more I thought about it, the more I hated him.

"I could have saved my father." My hands pushed against his chest, letting him stumble back in shock, "I could have kept him alive, if you hadn't held me here." I repeated my action from before, only adding more force.

The guards standing in the room rushed over and grabbed my arms, restraining me from taking further action, "It's alright." He held his hand up, for the guards to release me.

"I caused this." He leaned back on the table behind him, crossing one leg over the other, "The funeral is in two days, the least I could do is accompany you." He clasped his hands together, not showing any sign of remorse on his face aside from his ' kind' offer.

"You think I want that?" I yelled, "Don't talk to me." And with that I walked out of the room, the guarss tried to stop me, but I pushed through them not caring if I'd be locked in the dungeon.

✟ ✟ ✟

Arriving at the small cottage-like building. I looked around the room, noticing my mother sitting in the first isle in the front. I walked slowly through the crowd of people, and sat down next to her, "Hello mother." I smiled, her tears only multiplied when she threw her arms around me.

It was incredible to see my mother. Her skin was pale and white, her hair had gotten a little more grey, and her body was so much slimmer, you could almost see her bones.

"Mother have you been eating?" I asked, wrapping my hand around her thin arm, "How do you think your father died." She sniffled, "The only way this funeral is happening is because the priest is letting us hold it for free. Your father he- he gave the rest of our food to the starving kids at the church."

As she held her hankerchief to her face, the room went quiet as the priest stood in front of the crowd, "The ceremony will now start." He projected.

He talked about the time my father saved a child from getting hit by a car, he ran out an grabbed him so quickly, it was back when I was 8. He also spoke about how my father was amazing at hunting, always got the shot right. He talked about how he was hurt after I left, and how he stopped eating after that.

It was all too much, I had to get some air. Knowing that my father stopped eating as much because I left, broke my heart. I stood from the chair I was sitting in and left the room, walking just outside the building and leaning on the wall.

It hurt. It hurt knowing I was very well the cause of my fathers death, it hurt knowing my  mother was also starving and I could do nothing about it. I just had to let it all go, and focus on myself, but that wasn't what I really wanted.

"Beautiful ceremony, for a beautiful family." A petite woman came up beside me, her hair was as white as snow, and her smile could light up the sky. Everyone poured out the front door and as I looked forward I noticed a large crowd, "What are they looking at?" I asked her.

"Didn't you notice? The prince is here." She pointed, I saw Calum leaning on his buggy, directly looking at me, with his hands clasped together in his lap. "Vey strange, he never comes to the village." She continued.

I stood off of the wall and began making my way over to him, as I slipped inbetween the large amount of people, I finally made my way to be directly in front of Prince Calum Hood.

"I told you not to come."

"I decided it would be better if I came."

"That is not your decision."

"Isn't it? Roy?" He pushed himself off of the car and was now standing directly in front of me, his head tilted down to look me in the eyes, "I can do whatever I want." He finished.

"You're full of yourself." I spat, earning a few gasps from the crowd around us, "So a date?" He chuckled, as if this was funny, "Very funny, I'm with Clyde." I hadn't even processed the words until they slipped out of my mouth.

I noticed Calums smile faded quickly and his eyebrows furrowing down, "Clyde?" He spat out, as if he was some disgusting man I should have nothing to do with, "Yes?" I crossed my small arms, challenging his stare at the same time, a scoff left his mouth before he lifted his head to look around, "Well have fun with that chap, I'll be on my way." He acted as if I had just lied about his family being murdered.

I didn't understand this man, not even a little bit. He said he wanted to be here for me and I told him not to, then hes going against my direction at my own fathers funeral, and now he's angry I have a boyfriend.

There are so many riddles to this man, that I will never solve.

This chapter went a little different than I was hoping! But I still think it produced the same effect for the rest of the book. IM FINALLY OUT OF SCHOOL 😥
