I stepped out of my small cottage and took a breath of the fresh winter air, Grabbing a large basket on my way, my feet gradually moved me towards the barn that was convienently placed across a small creek, filled with rocks and small tadpoles.
As I approached closer, I could hear voices talking on the inside, it wasn't loud, but it was loud enough to hear a few sentences exchanged, "Yes she would be amazing for your cattle. She's done amazing work here." I could tell it was Calum, but not what he was talking about.
Instead of walking toward the large, red, structure, I began a path heading towards the chicken coop. Grabbing the small oval like eggs, I placed them promptly in the basket to my left, it had a bed of hay to hold them.
Pulling the gray, plaid shawl up onto my shoulders, I briskly turned around and was faced with Prince Calum, and Micheal. They were conversing while walking out the back barn door, "She'll fit in perfectly with you're housemaids I promise you." Calum hesitantly smiled after speaking.
The basket that was once tightly held in my hand, was now laying on the grass by my bare feet. Egg dripping through the fallen leaves, I realized the topic they had been discussing in the barn.
"You- you're giving me to Sir Micheal?" The words left my mouth softer than expected. Calums head quickly tilted up to meet my puzzled eyes, "Well you've made it abundantly clear you would much rather not be here with me, isn't that right?" Calum clasped his hands together and began to walk towards me.
Without hesitation, my feet brought me to be directly in front of Calum, "I want to be with my mother? Not across the country, your Majesty." The ending came out as if I was mocking him, the audacity this man had.
His head dipped down to have his eyes level with mine, sending chills down my spine. No matter how irritating this man could be, he's unbelievably attractive when he's mad. "Don't be so ungreatful." His hard voice seethed quietly, almost as a whisper.
A scoff left my throat as I shook my head, "Ungrateful? Out of everyone in this palace, you should be the one to understand why I want to stay with my mother. Because my father died, sound familiar?" His back straightened, silently letting out a deep breath,
"Oh you-"
"Your Majesty, would you like to show me some others?" Micheal interrupted, clearly tired of hearing us banter. Calum took one last disgusted glance at me before he turned and walked the opposite direction.
Realizing the basket was no longer in my hand, I mentally cursed at myself for dropping, and wasting those perfectly good eggs. I sighed, after taking a moment to collect my thoughts, I picked up the basket and began my tasks once again.

Lifting my small foot onto the next white cobble step, I entered through the back of the tall castle. Wandering, I soon find a office room with a door of tall dark oak. I lifted my knuckles to meet the door and bring three small knocks upon the door.
"Come in." I heard Calums voice rumble from behind the door. I slowly pushed the door and before me stood the same tall, intimidating man who was before me this morning. "Your Majesty I wanted to discuss out conversation from earlier." I began, "No need." Calum interupted almost as soon as the words left my lips.
"Micheal chose Sasha instead. Your wish has been granted." Calum walked over to his desk and pulled out a few sheets of paper before seating himself in the chair promptly below him.
"Sasha.. well.. I just wanted to apologize for what I said earlier." I pulled the small shawl upon my shoulders, closer. Calum sighed, deeply, "No reason to apologize, you only told the truth." He quipped, never lifting his head to meet my gaze upon him.
I eyes danced around his different features, noticing the inticing back muscles he carried, they were revealed as he leaned down, writing immensley on his paper, "Anything else you need, Roy?" I flinched due to the sudden realization I had been standing there for quite a while.
"Or have you come to simply stare at me." Calum stood from his chair, setting his writing utensil down. I turned around and opened the door that was nearly closed behind me, rushing out to avoid any closer encounters, "Jo." My footsteps stopped, and I turned.
"Please don't hate me." Calum acted as if he was defeated in a way, his shoulders slouching. "I don't understand, what ever do you mean?" I turned my body to face him fully, "I know... i can be a bit of a prick sometimes."
"Sometimes.."
"Yes.. But I truly, I don't mean it." He confided. "Your Majesty, what is the reason you're telling me this?" I truly wanted to see the point of this 'apology' it seemed.
"I love you."
