Then I saw him again. He held my gaze and in his eyes was confusion. It was as if he wasn't expecting the look he saw in my eyes. He was by the exit. He looked away and looked to be sharing a few words with one of his friends. He nodded before his friend walked away. He turned around with his calculative narrowed eyes and then he... he smiled, slightly bringing out one of his dimples, he smiled as he raised his brows and mouthed, 'what'.

I was frozen. His smile widened but it became more cocky than it was before and this annoyed me, in fact it made me almost angry. He gave me the distraction I was desperately grasping for. I wasn't sure wether it was my anger at the fact that he seemed to be just another cocky and obnoxious fool or if it was something else. Something much deeper, something I could not understand at the time. Something I desperately didn't want to understand at the time.

It was as if I were in a haze. Desperate to remain in control I kept my eyes on him even after he looked away. I watched him as he stared off in space. Wondering if he could possibly have been thinking about me. I watched as his eyebrows creased when he turned back in my direction, but only to share a few words with the red head girl who was was standing to his left. I watched as his face morphed into yet another earthquaking grin. His dimples out. I noted that he was a big smiler. A person who wasn't afraid to bless the world with a big, wide and bright smile that almost reached his eyes. How much more beautiful could his smile get if it actually were to reach his eyes. His beautiful chocolate, brown eyes. I wondered. I watched it all until the very moment I could no longer see his raven head among the sea of many other students.

Back to my senses I finally breathed a long deep breath. In my hand I felt another, squeezing mine in reassurance. "I heard about your condition." Sandra said softly. "They had to tell me to ensure I look out for you, incase anything happens." She continued and I  just nodded, feeling solemn.

We made our way to homeroom. As we entered I immediately spotted him at the seats in the far middle of the class. He was with his group of friends and like before, he was smiling and laughing. He looked to be East Asian with blood red plump lips. His eyes were double-lidded, and his hair jet-black had soft strands falling into his eyes every few seconds. It was slightly shaved at the sides and messily swept to the left side of his face. Along with the dimples he had laughing lines and perfectly white teeth that were currently biting onto his plump lips right before he stared right at me.

He offered me a reassuring smile that slightly annoyed me because it felt a bit pitiful. Another part of me, the more sane part of me, was grateful. I looked away shortly after that, making a mental note to avoid him. To avoid the awkward 'are you ok, what's wrong?', that I always seem to receive after an almost episode.

The teacher walked in and I twirled around searching for a place to sit. I settled next to Sandra who to my chagrin picked a seat in the front row. "Oh seems I'm a bit early." The teacher who had been mentioned earlier in the assembly hall, said as he chuckled awkwardly. I think he's name was Mr East. He was a bit young and seemed to be new in the teaching field, but I knew not to judge a book by its cover. I sat there with no expectations at all because I learnt that it's expectations that leads to disappointments and I was not setting myself in one of those traps again.

"Ok!" He said as he sighed as if trying to generate some confidence . "I'm your new homeroom teacher Mr West and... it seems I'm not the only newbie here." He said as he looked down on a sheet of paper. West, East at least I was close . "Miss Gastambide would you mind introducing yourself?"

I stood up as the class went silent. The scraping of my chair across the floor as I stood up and the beating of my heart was the only sound I could hear. Anxious for the third time today I felt my muscles tense even more than before, a slight pain in my limbs searing to almost unbearable. "Um... Good morning. My name is Rüya. Rüya Gastambide and I'm from New City, a small town 4 hours from Miami." I answered. "Ok Miss Gastambide you may be seated." He said as I sat back down.
