"Khun Yai, please. I beg you to rethink your decision," he held my hand.
"Mew, I simply gave Art an opportunity to work. Nothing else. As for him living here, he's living in my house. It doesn't relate to you in any way isn't it?" I defend myself.
"Khun Yai, you know Art really like me, don't you? Since high school! And I honestly didn't think that he changed,"
"What makes you think that way? It's me who spends the most time with him, not you!"
"Khun Yai, after that fight, the bruises on Gulf's tells a different story then what Art told us that day. It's so obvious that Art is the one who initiates the fight, not Gulf. I'm not saying this simply because Gulf is my wife. I'm saying this based on the evidence," he keeps on trying to convince me.
"And Khun Yai, I know it's still hard for you to accept Gulf. Plus the fact he's a single dad. But try to know him first, Na?" he added.
"Fine. I'll have Art to work at our old restaurant with Kaownah. Happy?"
"Kob Khun Na, Khun Yai," he thanked me as he pours me some water.
Art then walked out from his bedroom and joined us at the dining table.
"Oh, Mew. You are joining us for lunch?" Art asked happily as he took a seat.
"No. I need to make a move now, Khun Yai. We are going to pick up Gulf's family at the train station," Mew excuse himself, ignoring Art.
"Gulf family? Are they coming here for a vacation?" Art asked as soon as Mew left.
"No, they are going to stay here since Mew thinks it's not effective to have them stay in a rented house while we have a lot of empty houses here. And Gulf's younger sister is going to work here," I explained to him as I studied his face.
"Oho, Gulf sure moves fast," he commented.
"What do you mean?"
"Khun Yai, he even invited his family to live here. Are you sure Mew is going to divorce him after this?" Art raised his concern.
Well...
He has a point...
"Art," I called him after I took my first bite.
"Yes, Khun Yai," he puts down his orange juice.
"You didn't assault Gulf first the other day isn't it?" I threw my question.
"Khun Yai, even you believed that I attacked him first?" he was taken aback.
"Even you are not on my side. So why should I live here isn't it?" he started sobbing.
"Kob Khun Na, Khun Yai. For your kindness towards me all this time. I lost my parents when I was just a kid. Then I lost my Khun Yaa. I'm alone, no one loves me," he then leaves his seat and put his head on my lap, crying hard.
"Khun Yai Khorthot Na, Luk. For asking such questions that hurt your feelings. I should've known that you would never hurt anyone," I patted his head, coaxing him.
"It's alright, Khun Yai. I already consider you as my real grandmother. The only family I have left. I'm happy as long as you understand me," he looked at me, smiling faintly.
