ROYS POV
I waited for the earth to open up and swallow me. My breath going unsteady by each passing moment. I can barely believe that Maya is here. Right in front of me. God...how much I waited for this day to happen and when she's finally here I felt like exploding. I saw her gulping down the glass of water which I gave her. I kept pinching myself to know whether I'm dreaming or not.
She's real. Maya is here in front of me.
Her eyes met mine and I quickly looked away. She's sitting opposite to me in the couch. I felt like asking so many things but I zipped my mouth and waited for her to speak
"Roy?"she finally broke the silence and I closed my eyes hearing my name in her voice.
God. How much I missed this voice. What the hell I'm even thinking?
"Roy.. please speak to me. I can't take this silence"she said and her eyes got filled up. No No. I don't want her to cry. I slowly looked up to her face and sighed.
"Ma..ya..How are you?"
Damnit! Roy you're a complete fool.
She smiled slightly and wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes
"Now I feel alive Roy.. I've been lifeless all these while"she said and I nodded slowly. I gulped down the saliva and wiped the sweat off my forehead
"How have you been Roy?"she asked. I looked up at her
"I don't know Maya.. I'm shocked and Surprised as well" I fell silent. I saw her weeping slowly and I couldn't take it anymore. Gathering all my strength I got up from the couch I walked up to her. I sat besides her and drew a sharp breath
"Does your husband knows that you're here?"I asked and she looked at me. Our eyes locked. She shook her head slowly.
"Which husband?"she asked giving me a mini heart attack.
"Your..Your husband Maya. Does he know that you're here?"I asked. Heck I don't remember that guys name.
"My marriage...it didn't happen Roy"she said and I jumped up on my feets
"What the hell are you talking?" I yelled at top of my voice. What does she mean by this? Thousands of questions popped up in my head. My legs went weak.
"Roy.. I can explain"she spoke. I lost all my coolness
"Maya.. I had enough. I've waited for you. I've begged you a thousand times not to leave me. But you did. You chose another life and I let you do that. After all these months.. you're saying that your marriage didn't happen? How come? How did you find me?" I almost shouted.
"Roy.. please"she said and I saw her tears. I felt trapped in a turmoil of emotions. I walked up to her and touched her shoulders. Made her look straight
"Maya..tell me what happened exactly"
"Roy.. first of all I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I left you alone. But trust me I never wanted to. You knew it very well right. I couldn't live without you"she said and I smirked
"And that's why you left me pushing aside all my pleadings"I said sarcastically. Seeing her tears I tried to control myself.
"Roy.. don't hate me please"she said clutching the end of her dupatta.
"I can't. I can't hate you Maya and I never did. Even after you left me. I thought you will come back to me. Initial days were the worst for me but I healed"I said coldly. She nodded slowly
"Roy... like you said. I wished all your happiness and decided to move on. But I couldn't. I just couldn't. I tried and I failed miserably"
"What happened?"I asked when I saw her biting her lips to control her tears
