Michael Part II

Nola

Tuesday
September 1st

Mika and Michael had just arrived home in London when Ezra came over to visit. They were both in the kitchen eating lunch when he entered the house.

"Hey Ez!" Michael said and hugged his son tightly. "I missed you. Where's Fortune?"

Mika got up and hugged Ezra as well.

"He's...home. I need to talk to you. I have a...problem?" Ezra said.

Michael looked at his son in confusion.

"Remember about nine months ago when Fortune and I got into a fight and broke up for the weekend?"

Mika and Michael nodded, still confused.

Ezra walked towards the front door and disappeared for a few seconds. When he returned he was carrying a car seat. "Well I slept with a girl that weekend. And...surprise?"

Michael's jaw dropped. Mika pushed his mouth shut for him and then walked over to Ezra. He placed the car seat on the counter and Mika took the precious newborn out.

His eyes were filled with tears as he placed her in his arms. He then walked over to Michael, whom was still in shock, and placed her in his arms. Ezra smiled as he watched.

Michael held the baby in silence until he finally asked Ezra, "what's her name?"

"Nola," he answered and sat next to his father.

"She's gorgeous Ezra," Michael said as a tear fell from his eye.

"Have you told Fortune?" Mika asked Ezra.

"No, I don't know how he'll react," Ezra answered. "I'm hoping he'll react the same as you two."

"Ezra, it happened. You guys weren't together. If he doesn't understand then screw him. This angel is all you need," Michael responded as he smiled at Nola.

"Well I better ask him to co-," Ezra started, but stopped as Fortune entered the kitchen.

"Ezra, where have you been?" Fortune asked angrily as he approached Ezra.

Ezra pointed at Nola. Fortune then gave him a confused look.

"She's mine Fortune," Ezra answered. "I just picked her up from the hospital. Her mother died during birth. Thankfully she gave my name before.."

Michael rubbed Ezra's arm comforting him. "I'm sorry Ez."

Ezra nodded at his father as fought back his tears to continue, "I didn't cheat Fortune. It was when we broke up for that weekend. I promise I didn't cheat on you."

Fortune shook his head. "We didn't break up. We got into a fight Ezra!" Fortune shouted and got even more angry at Ezra. His shouting caused Nola to cry. Michael left the room with her. Mika stayed just in case he had to break the boys up.

"You said we were over Fortune. So, that means we broke up!" Ezra shouted back.

Fortune laughed at Ezra, "you are an idiot! That's not what happened!"

"Well what now then Fortune? I can't change it! It happened!"

Fortune backed away from Ezra shaking his head, "if that...mistake wasn't born you would've never told me?"

Ezra stood up in anger, "mistake? Nola is not a mistake. Maybe you were."

Ezra walked into the living room and sat next to Michael. Fortune stood in the kitchen in shock of what Ezra just said. Mika tried talking to him, but he took off. When he slammed the door Ezra broke down.

Michael handed Nola to Mika, "Ez, sssh. It's okay. Come here," Michael said as he pulled Ezra into him and hugged him tightly. Ezra continued until he cried himself to sleep.

Michael laid him down on the couch and placed a blanket over him. Mika and Nola were sleeping on the couch, so Michael went outback to call Fortune.

"Michael he cheated on me," Fortune said immediately when he answered the phone.

"Fortune, Mika was there when you two got into the fight. It was over Mika and I. You said that you were over. Which means you broke up."

"It doesn't matter. He sti-" Fortune started, but Michael cut him off.

"It does matter. Now man up and get back here. He needs you now more than ever. I know you two are way to young for a child, but were here for you. I believe in you two and you both know Mika and I would do anything for you two."

"Okay, I'll be right there."

Ten minutes later Fortune returned. He picked up Nola when he did and sat next to Ezra. Fortune looked at Ezra sleeping and then to Nola sleeping and smiled.
