The week finally ended. Today was Saturday. Allen had pointed out how well I knew the Jinn. He had been in the cafeteria the following morning after being locked in my room. Kanda had glared at me the whole time Allen and I took to eat breakfast. I guess our little heart to heart in the woods was all but forgotten by him.
That had been a few days ago now. Today I could relax. I didn’t have a little ghost boy to care for. He would be able to fend for himself, right? I pondered as I stretched. My shoulders cracked, my back popped it felt good to get my joints limber.
Central was being quite too. This had me concerned. It also gave me even more reason to just stay in my room all day. Maybe I could get Jerry to pack me up some lunch so that I could hole up. Who would miss me? Sighing I had the feeling they would all be happier if I stayed in my room.
We I at least had to venture out for food. Standing I found some clothing to put on. I went to use the bathroom before heading down to gather sustenance. Kanda was just coming out of his room as I reached the steps.
“Stupid rabbit?” he called out to me. I paused to see what he wanted.
“Have you seen the guys from Central today?” I snorted.
“I just got out of bed!” Smirking I looked at him. His hair was wet. “Let me guess. You've been up, ate, worked out and have showered already?” I arched a brow as we descended the steps together.
“I haven’t eaten yet.” He pointed out. “Nor have I seen the short stack.” We glanced at each other. What did that mean? As if we were on the same wave length we rushed down the stairs. Knocking a few people out of the way we hurried into the cafeteria.
There at a table by himself with a loaded metal cart beside him sat Allen. He was happily plowing through his meal. I smiled at the sight of his happy face. He waved a sausage link at me. Waving back I told him to save me a spot. Looking at everyone else I don’t think I needed to ask. No one seemed to want to sit with the newcomer.
Glancing to my side I saw Kanda's eyes narrowing. Sure enough there was Malcom. Johnny stood beside him looking miserable with a clipboard in his hands. “Hey Johnny.” I called out he waved his pen. Malcom scowled. He has yet to say anything to me since invading my school.
“How about that rematch later?” I called to the bespectacled scientist. His face lit up. Nodding he said.
“I should be free by 6. Thanks Lavi.” He looked much happier now. I strolled toward the line to get my food.
“Lavi.” The name was spat out as if it left an unwelcome taste in the speakers mouth. I hoped it burned the idiots tongue.
Turning my head I met his gaze. “Yes, Malcom?” I said.
“That's Mr. Lvellie, to the likes of you.” He snarled.
“Sure, whatever you say, Malcom.” I waved him off dismissing whatever it was he had wanted to say.
“Lavi has a tendency not to call a person by their chosen name.” I smiled down at the samurai beside me.
“Ah, Yu, you make my heart swell!” I teased.
“Emmm those pants make something of mine swell.” I stiffened at the sound, a cool smarmy tone. Glaring I looked toward the door. Tyki stood there, golden eyes glittering  I shook my butt at him.
“You may look, but this you will never touch.” I told him. Slowly he licked his lips with an over pink tongue.
“Oh, is that so?” he asked. The gold in his gaze darkening. “We shall see. I usually get what I want.” He informed me. I reached the line turning to ignore the room.
Once I got up to the head of the line I called out for Jerry. His dark face popped out from the kitchen. A spatula in one hand he leaned through the opening to greet me. “What can I do for you Lavi?” he asked.
“Is there anyway I can get a lunch packed to take to my room?”
“A, one of those days.” His eyes flicked past me. I wondered who he looked at. Could it be Malcom? Or the lust demon, Tyki? Which would he think I was trying to avoid today? I shook my head. It didn’t matter.
“Sure thing.” He told me. “It will be ready by the time your down with breakfast.” He flashed me a grin, it faded from his lips as he glanced once more behind me. I took my food, heading to sit with Allen.
“How was your first week with us?” I asked. He swallowed the bite nodding at me.
“Everyone is so great here” He told me. “Tyki offered to help me with my history.” He added.
“Let me guess, alone in the darkest part of the quietest section of the school?” I arched my eyebrow. His face flooded with color.
“Well the study section of the library…” his voice trailed off as I shook my head.
“There is a hidden room back there. Only a few people know about. Don’t go there. You will be trapped and made to do whatever dirty things his imagination can come up with.” I told him pointing my fork for emphasis.
“If you need help with any of your subjects, my door is always open.” I said.
“Does that go for the rest of us?” the cool sexy voice of Tyki asked as a tray was placed beside mine. He slipped down making sure as much of his body rubbed against mine as possible.
“Cause I could use some help with biology, chemistry and the student bodies.” He smirked leaning tight against my arm. I went to side down only to have Kanda take that seat. Inwardly I groaned. I was stuck beside him.
Tyki took delight in my uncomfortableness. Wrapping his arm around my waist he moved closer. His chin settled to my shoulder.  Warm breath tickled my neck and ear. Of course he sat on the side of my bad eye.
“We should spend the day together in your room.” He whispered. With a chuckle he added. “That would make for an interesting day. Especially if you really did keep your door open.” His voice was like purr. A lullaby sung in my ear. I shook off his seductive magic.
“Those days are far behind us.” I told him shaking him off of me as well.
“What days?” an innocently sweet voice asked. Looking up I saw Krory take the seat beside Allen. Tyki crinkled his nose at the undead being.
“Ugh, I think I lost my appetite.”  He muttered picking up his tray and moving as far from us as he could. I chuckled sliding over to give Kanda more space.
“You are a life saver, my friend. You ever need to suck my blood, its yours!”  I laughed at his shocked face.
“You and Tyki had a thing?” Lenalee arrived to sit on Allen's other side.
“It was a long time ago. I was young, foolish and much more prone to act on my emotions then.” I said ignoring the glare I got from the Jinn. No one knew how intimate that relationship was.
Kanda eyed Allen. “How can you eat like that and still be a tiny bean sprout?” he asked. I snorted knowing he was only changing the subject.
“Not a bean sprout!” Allen murmured as he thrust a green bean into his mouth. Kanda was watching him silently. The rest of us held our breath waiting for more. When they looked to be ignoring each other, Krory cleared his throat.
“I heard Komui was working on a new machine…” the groans echoed around our area. It wasn’t just our table that heard the news.
“Machine for what?” Allen asked looking interested.
“Oh, you know…” Krory waved a hand. “To make life easier for us all living here.” He frowned. Krory had been the last person attacked by one of Komui's inventions. If I hadn’t come a crossed him when I did I think we would have been down one vampire student.
It took all I had to get the thing off of him. When I busted it up with my hammer, Komui got mad at me. He told me Sir Komlin was only trying to clean the boy up. Too bad he was holding him by the throat. I sighed; I didn’t want to think about another robot.
“If the thing touches my noodles again, I will hack it to itty bitty pieces." Kanda swore as he finished up his soba noodles. I smiled at him. Those noodles were all I ever saw him eat. I knew Jerry snuck vegetables in them for him. Kanda didn’t seem to mind much.
As grumpy as he sounded, Kanda was a good friend. Strong and loyal he fought for what he believed in. Sometimes that meant fighting your friends. Slapping a hand to his back I said to him.
“If I ever get possessed promise me you will be the one that ends my suffering?” he blinked. “Come on you want me dead anyway.” I stood scooping up my tray. “That would be the prefect way. Also.” I added as I began to walk away. “We would find out just who could really defeat who.” I hung my head for a brief moment before rising it and taking care of my tray.
Part of me knew that Kanda's threat to kill me was often caused by his inability to fully express himself in any other way than violence. Another part knew he never acted upon it because he truly didn’t know if he could defeat me. I hope he didn’t really want to. Heading back to the kitchen I got the bag of food for later. With this I wouldn’t have to leave my room until Monday. Jerry always made too much.
Reaching the stairs, I felt like I had escaped fate. No one stopped me. I made my way to my room. Not seeing any of the others. I imagined what I could do with all the time holed up in there. Although I loved my friends, and little Allen was growing on me, I was a solitary demon. Most demons are. We don’t trust our own kind. It had been awhile since I had a day to myself.
I rounded the corner to my room. Only to find the whole area filled with people. Allen stood in front of my door, Kanda and Krory on either side. Even Noise and Alma were there. I snorted when I saw Miranda talking to Lenalee. Suman held out a cd case to me. It was a series he had wanted me to watch but I never found the time. Daisya was showing Bak how to bounce a soccer ball from knee to knee.
“What are you all doing here?” I asked.
“Look we don’t know what it is with you and Mr. Lvellie, Or what your history is with Tyki Mikk.” Lenalee began.
“But we have eyes, more than you at least.” Miranda snorted.
“We know somethings been bugging you.” Suman offered.
“So, you can tell us all to get lost.” Daisya stated.
“Which we would do if that is really what you want.” Noise added.
“Or we could have a movie day.” Alma said.
“Jerry said he would send up the appropriate amount of snacks for us.” Allen smiled.
Kanda only tsked eyeing me.
“Well what can I say. Come on in.” They laughed and hugged me.
