Chaeyoung POV

Today was Friday, November 15, 2019. December is a few weeks away which means my birthday is right around the corner. I was finally turning 15. It wasn't a big deal but to my family it was. They had asked me if I wanted something like a car or money. However, I didn't want something... I want someone. 

The girl who sits in front of me in AP History. Her name is Myoui Mina. She's the definition of perfection! She has light milk chocolate eyes that sparkle under the sun. It's like a pool of honey that you always get lost in. Mina has natural straight hair and such great fashion taste. She has pearly white teeth that catches my eye whenever she does her iconic gummy smile. To sum it up she is everything a person would ask for. But.. we have one problem. She probably doesn't even know who I am! I'm just the girl who sits behind her in history class! After all, she is a popular Junior and I'm just a introvert Sophomore. 

Speaking of history class, I'm currently in it. I'm early like always waiting for Mina to enter the class with her best friends. Our teacher, Mr. Kim  hasn't came in yet but that was normal. He was usually late for flirting with our English teacher, Mr.Jeon. Mr. Kim is very young, funny and breathtaking which causes him to look like a student. I checked the time 2 more minutes before class starts.. where is Mina? I take a glance at the door and as if was planned she came in with her two best friends, Momo and Sana. The students at school admire all of them for different reasons. Momo is known for her dancing skills but also for being a pabo. Sana is known for being a heartthrob but for being the first openly gay person in school. Which answered everyone's most famous question: "Is Sana Gay?" She encouraged lots of kids to come out including me. I am bisexual and Sana talked to me for the first time after I told the students. I guess you could say me and Sana were friends but not that close. Lastly, we have Mina. Mina is known for being the top in class. However, she is well known to everyone for other reasons like her beauty, ballet skills, and I could go on forever-

Mr.Kim: Good afternoon class! Today we will be changing it up a bit. As you know December is coming and you all look lonely. So I decided why not pair you up for projects. It has nothing to do with history instead it's for you all to get along with each other. What's the point of school if I can't scold you for talking to each other in class?! Anyways, I paired you up based on the teachers and I's observations throughout the couple of months we have had you in our classes. Today, you can start talking, exchange numbers, and whatever high school kids do to get along. However, there will be one thing you will one thing that you all need to do. At the end of this project you must present a list of before and after. Which means to give a list of what you thought of the person before becoming friends and after becoming friends! So let me get the paper of people you will get paired with! -goes behind desk to get paper-

Oh my gosh what happens if I get paired with Mina?! I will be such a nervous wreck. She's gonna think I'm so weird. No Chaeyoung, calm down. Deep breath in and out. I look at everyone in the classroom and they all seem very nervous. Even Mina is nervous! But why? She has nothing to worry about! Anyone would love to be her friend or more. I face the front again as Mr. Kim comes back from behind the desk. 

Mr.Kim: sorry if that took a while! My desk is a mess because of all the work I have to grade! Anyways here is the list:

-Jae and Jamie

-Eric and Matthew

-Lisa and Jennie 

- Yerim and Nayeon

-Minnie and Miyeon

-Shuhua and Soojin 

When Mr. Kim said Shuhua and Soojin we all heard Shuhua squeal and Soojin groan. I silently chuckle to myself while Mr.Kim  clears his throat to begin again.

Mr. Kim: As I was saying..

-BamBam and Jaehyun.

-Mina and Chaeyoung

As soon as he said that my heart stopped. I'm paired up with the one and only Mina. Oh my gosh I should be honored. I started to fiddle with my fingers as I feel my heartbeat pick up pace. Before I could calm myself down I hear a tap on my desk. I look up to see her. 

Mina: Hi! I don't think we ever met ... well introduced ourselves. I'm Mina! -smiles and puts out hand for a handshake- 

I return the handshake and reply with " Hi, I'm Chaeyoung"

Third Person POV

Throughout class Chaeyoung and Mina talked about regular stuff like hobbies, favorite movies, and more. Everything went smoothly and they were having a good time. However, to ruin the moment the bell rang. Which signaled the students that school was officially over for the day. 

Before Chaeyoung could leave, Mina gave her a piece of paper and gave her a hug. She gladly accepted the paper and hugged back smelling the perfume that she had on. They walked out of class together with smiles on their faces. Both went separate ways but had the same thought. 

"This project is not as  bad as I thought it would be"
