Chapter 9.

Mina POV

I woke up earlier than the rest of days. 6:25 am. I'm usually up at 7:25 am. I checked my phone.. no message from Chaeyoung. Oh lord. Did Chaeyoung make it back safely? Did she get lost? Or worse.. was she taken? I quickly put on my school uniform and go downstairs. I leave a note for my parents while eating my cereal. Once I finished, I was immediately out the door walking to Chaeyoung's house.

After a good 30 minutes I had arrived. I was going to knock on the door but I'm guessing her parents were coming out. They looked at me with curiosity and annoyance. "Um, who are you?" the man said. "I am Mina, a fellow classmate of Chaeyoung." With that I heard the mother scoff. "You friends with my daughter? You could do better than being friends with her.  I don't see why her other friends hang with her. Don't feel bad for her just do better."

What the hell. Why would she talk bad of her own daughter. It  then clicked to me.. the pictures of only her brother. The reason why Chaeyoung barely talked about her family. Why she feels more comfortable with my family. Chaeyoung doesn't have a family that cares for her. Aw man I feel bad.

I replied to the mother with " Well Ms. Son, I think your daughter is perfectly fine. I will continue being her friend no matter how she behaves. I do not care if Chaeyoung isn't the greatest. She is a nice girl." With that her parents walk away while mumbling to each other. Whatever.

I enter the house and start heading to Chaeyoung's room. I get into her room and see her sleeping peacefully.  However, her phone is on the floor open. I know its bad to invade privacy but I just couldn't help myself..

Somi: We should meet up tomorrow! Hmm how about after school? We could hang out at the skate park again. I know that's your favorite place! Or we can go get ice cream or go anywhere you want. As long as I'm with you I'll be happy. :)

Somi: Chaeng?

Somi:Chaeyoungggggggggg

Somi: oh, you are probably sleeping its 3:45 am. I'll talk to you tomorrow. I love you! Bye goodnight!

What the- So Chaeyoung forgot to message me huh. I mean as long as she made it home safely right? I put the phone down and it was 7:10 am. I should wake her up unless she will be late. I start to poke her cheek and she suddenly got up. She was breathing heavily. Is she ok..?

As she scans her room her eyes land on me. She lets out a little scream and almost falls out of bed. I let out a little chuckle while she starts composing herself. "M-mina? What are you doing here?" She say. "I wanted to make sure you got her safely. You never sent me a message saying if u got home or not." With that Chaeyoung looks at me apologetically. "I'm sorry Mina! I was distracted with Somi. She was texting me and I sorta lost track of time. " Why do I feel my heart suffocate? It hurts but why? "It's fine Chaeng! Also do you want to hang out with me later? We can go get ice cream!" 

Chaeyoung looks at me like I've gone insane. "Um sure! well um maybe? I don't wanna disturb you and BamBam again." Dammit BamBam."No, I don't think BamBam is coming with us." I say. She then nods slowly and gets up. I walk out the room to give her privacy and I sit on the couch. However, the door busts open revealing these 4 girls which I am guessing are Chaeyoung's best friends? I quickly release that they do not notice my presence. 

"CHAEYOUNGGGGGG GET UP!" Jihyo says. Next to Jihyo is Im Nayeon and is laughing loudly with Jeongyeon. Oh poor Jeongyeon she is being hit on the shoulder every time Nayeon laughs. Behind them is Kim Dahyun, the girl staring right at me. 

"Mina?" Dahyun says which causes everyone to become silent and turn to me. They start bowing  and apologizing. I tell them its fine and bow back. As we sit in awkward silence, Chaeyoung finally comes down stairs with a wide smile on her face. 

"Jihyo!" she says with a vibrant smile. "Tssk, she doesn't even notice her beautiful unnie." Nayeon says. I am so confused- "Of course she noticed you, she just didnt want to acknowledge your grandma ass!" Jeongyeon says which causes Nayeon to hit her on the back of the head while everyone starts laughing.  After a few minutes everyone starts exiting the house for school. 

-time skip-

Chaeyoung POV

We made it to school. I say goodbye to my friends but Mina stayed with me. However, BamBam soon takes her away which leaves me alone. Again. However, I feel a tap on my shoulder. It's Somi? How does she know where I go  to school? What the heck-

"Chaeyoung!" she says "Hi Somi! How did you know I went to this school?" I say. I notice Somi shake her head and let out a little chuckle "Well- I have always gone to your school. You just never noticed I guess." I feel my cheeks turn red once she says that. How embarrassing. 

Somi then says "Chaeyoung, do you want to hang out with me later" Fuck. I have plans with Mina already. "I'm sorry Somi, maybe next time? I have plans with Mina already" She looks at Mina who is behind me may I include. "Pssh, She's to busy with her little boyfriend. Might as well ditch her and come hang with me." I look behind me to see Mina glaring at me? Or Somi? I look back at Somi and see her glaring back. Huh? 

"Come on Chaeyoung" Somi says and puts out her hand. I interwine my hands with her and we start walking to class together.  Maybe today won't be as bad because I'm with Somi? I have a bad feeling about this.
