Chapter 17

"YOU WANT TO WHAT?!"

Dadan and the two others aren't that slow. It didn't take them that much of a time to register what Reina had said, and it immediately clicked into their minds.

The famous mercenary wanted to adopt who again?! Ace, Sabo, and Luffy?! She wanted to adopt the three, more so, the most troublesome trio?!

"Definitely not!" Dadan answered without thinking. She unconsciously stood up, both hands slammed hard into the table while her towering figure glared daggers at Reina's elegant figure.

Reina's smile remained on her face, not wavering even at the expanse of angry glares that she's currently receiving from the Gang Leader, slash caretaker.

Dogra reacted and nervously laugh, "Miss Reina, we—...we could talked this first. Perhaps you're mistaking something."

"Oh?" Reina knew what Dogra is talking about, naturally. Her sources far more surpassed the Navy, and finding out everything about the three kids background is nothing than an easy feat. "Please enlighten me. I'm hoping we could all talked this through a peaceful conversation." She smoothly said with a sweet smile. However, the look in her eyes tells otherwise. It was just a mere honey words, because the mercenary doesn't really care about how this conversation is occuring, more so—she only cared about the results.

Dadan scowled and huff, sitting down back in her chair. "Those three aren't in for adoption."

She knew.

Reina smiled. Of course she knew from the start that those three aren't for adoption— Garp merely left them under Dadan's care. However, Reina far exceeded normality when it comes to power within this world. She could bend break the rules, and she certainly knew she would do it for those three. She doesn't really like using her title too much, but for those three, why the hell not? After all, she have that title for a reason and she might as well use it for something worth it.

Just then, a bright idea came into her mind. She grinned, "Then let me kidnapped them, would that work?"

"How can you tell that so calmly?!"

Dadan gritted her teeth. The audacity could go par with Garp's own audacious actions, and the words that sounded pretty polite sounded so disrespectful in Dadan's ears. It's so unbelievable and....annoying. Just how much stress does she have to deal with regarding those three?!

Well, Ace and Luffy mostly.

Unfortunately, Reina isn't the type to easily back down. She knew how to play her cards very well. She leaned her back against the chair, intertwining her hands.

"I'm just kidding. Even though I could, I wouldn't go as far as to kidnapped them...." Dadan felt assured at that, until she heard the next words.  "But taking someone who willingly come with me is out of the category of kidnapping, won't you agree?"

Dadan choked at those words, hands ready to strangle the woman in front of her. If it were any other average being, it would surely become a terrifying sight that they would go weak in the knees and ran away with their tail tuck between their legs, never showing themselves anywhere near Dadan's house.

However, the person Dadan is facing is clearly one of those odd, untouchable element; One of the reason why Dadan haven't struck her with a fist yet.

"I already told you, you can't take them! Don't you know who their grandpa is?!" Dadan yelled through gritted teeth.

Reina merely smiled at the mention of that. Her lips tilted into a smirk, followed by her head tilting innocent at the side.

"It's Garp-san, right?"
