CATALINA'S POINT OF VIEW
2:14 P.M."Do you have any last words?" I asked her as I held my knife against her throat.
"Stop!" Sergio screamed.
"Cat this isn't the way." Denver said softly. "This won't bring him back."
"No it won't." I spat. "But it'll make Sergio and her suffer."
"Please don't kill me. I have a daughter." She begged.
"It's funny that you mention that." I said with a sarcastic chuckle. "I was pregnant with Andrés's daughter when you killed him."
"I didn't pull the trigger." She screamed through her tears.
"You know everybody loves to throw that sentence around as if it's some excuse for what you took from me." I said as I stared at Sergio. "I'm sorry to break it to you but it doesn't change what you did."
"I'm sorry." She cried.
"Sorry won't bring him back will it?" I asked harshly.
"Neither will killing her." Denver reminded me.
"Don't do this Catalina." Andrés whispered in my ear. "Listen to my words Dear Cairo. Let her go."
I sighed involuntary as I aggressively shoved her towards Sergio.
"Be grateful I spared her worthless life." I said as I stared daggers into him. "But if she slips up just once I promise you next time I won't be as generous."
"Cat maybe you should go lay down." Denver said as he walked up to me. "I know this is a lot for you to handle."
"I'm fine."
"Cleo perhaps Denver is right." Martín said as he grabbed my hand. "Come with me."
"Why?" I groaned.
"I have a surprise to show you."
"A surprise?" I questioned.
"Indeed."
"What is it?" I asked as he dragged me down the familiar hallway to the bedrooms.
"Look." He said as he opened the last door on the right and I gasped.
"Oh my god." I said as I walked into the familiar room.
It was my room or to be more specific Andrés and I's bedroom.
"Why did you bring me in here?" I asked him softly. "I don't want to be in here."
"Sergio already gave everybody else the rest of the rooms. He figured you'd want to stay in here with Paris." Martín explained.
"Switch with me?" I pleaded.
"I'm not staying in here." He scoffed.
"Why not?"
"It was your room Cleo. It's filled with your stuff. Why the hell would we switch?"
"But his stuff is in here too!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah." He said in confusion. "Is that a problem?"
I looked at him perplexed at how naïve he was being but I ultimately decided that fighting would get me no where.
"No...no it's...it's not a problem." I said softly.
"Great!" He exclaimed as he turned towards the door. "I'll leave you alone to rest."
"Yeah." I said as I watched him walk out and close the door behind him.
"Fuck me I guess." I thought to myself sarcastically as I looked around at the furniture I had lived with for almost three years of my life.
