August was a normal kid from Wisconsin. One thing that he thought about constantly was a girl. He had one class with her, luckily it was creative writing and poetry. He was truly passionate about writing, it was one of the only ways he felt he could express his feelings. Rebecca was also used to her Wisconsin lifestyle, she loved the fresh air, the smell of the sunshine, and how the wind danced with her auburn hair. She had known of August Miller and his obsession, mostly because of his constant volunteering to read his works in class. His works were mostly poetry of love, or quoting Shakespeare, who he protested was the best writer and poet of all time. If Rebecca thought about it, she loved Emily Dickinson and Edgar Allan Poe. Poetry was something they both loved and blossomed in, they caught each other’s eye occasionally, she would shy away, he would keep pushing his brown eyes to see her blue ones.
Rebecca was skeptical about him, she avoided him for one reason. Despite his poetry obsession, he was a football star that had a new girlfriend every week. August had dreams of proving himself to her, he was tired of dating the cheerleaders and the populars. He wanted a true down to earth girl, someone who could keep him grounded. She dreamt of a guy who was real and who cared. They both dreamed of something bigger in their high school lives.
