"good job!"

the sisters praised sam, ruffling her hair, making her giggle. "unnie, stop that." she tried to fix her hair again, just as ethan came back.

"i have something planned for us." he said, and the girls look at him questionably. "let's party! you guys drink, right?"

"we're not going to the party." elise said, and he looks at her. "why not?" elise looks at him dead in the eye. "i'm not endangering our safety for the sake of your enjoyment."

"what?! i'm gonna drive anyway!" he said, making elise look at the sisters. "we won't allow you. if you wanna drink, we have soju at our place."

"you guys are lame." they enter the van, with sam going to drive. "can i have the aux?" luna glared at him. "hell no."

"i bet this is why summer wanted to marry me. you guys are boring!" maya glared at him. "she was forced to marry you, idiot."

"i'm not an idiot! i'm smarter than you are! i bet you suck at science!" maya looked at him. "dude, i major in biology. you can't tell me i suck at science."

"i don't even know why i agreed to this! this is so boring!" he almost smacks sam in the face when he flailed his hands. "keep quiet."

sam said, keeping her eyes on the road. "you don't tell me what to do! i'll yell whenever i want!" sam grips the wheel tighter.

"if you don't shut up, i'll stop this car and throw you out the car in the middle of the highway and leave you there." sam looks at him briefly.

that seems to quiet him, as the other girls sigh. "if you try anything, we have a lot against you and your parents so you better respect us."

"you don't even have proof." elise smirks. "oh, but we do." he looked scared. "y-you can't jail me! my dad will kill you!"

"we all come from fairly powerful families, and our families a hundred times more than your family, maybe even a thousand."

"fine! i'll stop with the sam thing! you better not tell anyone about me! i'll lose my position as captain!" luna chuckled. "that includes sam."

"and i believe you have something to tell her." he sighs. "look, i'm sorry, okay? that's what you wanted to hear, right? i'm sorry."

"there's another thing." elise buts in, and he looks at her. "emilia and i dated behind your back. i wanted to ruin you because she wanted you back."

"she fought with you to keep me away from you. i was with emilia when the incident happened. i helped her ruin you."

"when your rumors got out, i spread them. it's all me. because i know emilia couldn't do anything because she was tied to the council."

"when i knew that i was marrying summer, i bought all the big guns and did that. but i still believe that i'm better than you."

sam pulls up to a bus stop and stops the car. "get out." he looks at her. "what? why? i apologized!" sam looks at him. "get out. it's your stop."

she glanced at the gps and he sighs. "sam, please don't hate emilia for this i—" "leave. now." he sighs, getting out.

after she drove away, she looked at the girls through the rear view mirror. "for how long did you know about this?" they all looked at each other.

"elise told us yesterday." aaliyah admitted. "and you didn't even think to tell me?" violet spoke up. "we thought you knew..and we thought it was for the best.."

"how could i have known? do you think emilia tells me shit?!" sam raised her voice and the girls murmured again.

"and you thought it was for the best? who are you to decide on what's best for me? did you even think about how would i feel about this?!"

"can we continue this at home? i mean, we could all talk and stuff..since you're driving i don't want us to get into any accident."

"you best bet we're talking about this at your place. i can't believe you guys would keep something like this from me."
