Never Compare

Part 2

(Y/n) takes a deep breath and leaves Spencer's apartment.
He sighs and looks at his feet.
The girl puts her hands in her pockets as she walks down the street.
Her apartment doesn't sound appealing right now.
Her phone dings from getting a text message.
"How's it going?"
It's from Aaron.
"Exactly like how I told you it would. He doesn't like me. He only has feelings for JJ." 
She texts back.
Aaron sighs and nods. "Come over. I'll fill the tub."
(Y/n) smiles and makes her way to Aaron's apartment. When she gets there she knocks on the door.
The older agent opens the door and smiles.
Her face slams against his chest and he rubs her back.
"I'm sorry," he whispers. He leads her into his apartment, closes the door and takes her to the bathroom.
(Y/n) looks around and rubs her eyes. "Jack here?"
"Yeah. He's in his room drawing."
The girl smiles and nods. She stretches and takes off her jacket, laying it on a chair.
"Hi (n/n)," Jack greets walking over.
(Y/n) smiles at the boy. "Hi Jackie boy. I've missed seeing you."
"I've missed you too. Are you staying the night?"
Aaron nods and grabs a towel. "Yes she is."
(Y/n) smiles and looks between the father and son. "I'm gonna take a bath then I can read you a story before bed. How does that sound?"
"Yes please. Is that ok dad?"
Aaron smiles and nods. He turns off the water once the tub is filled enough. "Why don't you go draw something for her Jack."
The boy nods, smiling and runs back to his room.
(Y/n) gets undressed and gets into the tub.
Aaron looks back once he hears her get in. "I hope this won't affect your work."
She sighs but nods. "I won't let it. I can do my job Aaron."
The agent nods and sits next to the tub. He plays with the water with his fingers.
The girl smiles and watches his fingers. "Aarbear you're the best."
Aaron smiles and looks at her. "Yeah?"
(Y/n) giggles and bites her lip. "I do love you Aaron. I just hope you don't think I'm trying to replace Haley."
The man laughs and nods. "I know you wouldn't try to. You're great and any guy would be lucky to have you. You're my best friend. If you want to you can stay here. I know Jack would like that."
"Maybe I should stay back for a bit longer. Just to make sure." The girl comments and the man nods.
"I'll tell the team you need a little longer."
(Y/n) leans back against the edge and closes her eyes. "Don't have too much fun without me ok?"
"Saving lives isn't fun." He responds.
"Being the one saved isn't fun either." She whispers and looks down. "Did you see all of the footage? The unsub said Spencer and I were gonna have our own baby. Like he was gonna force Spencer and I to have sex."
"That doesn't matter now. The best thing you can do is move on." Aaron responds.
The girl nods and sinks farther down into the water.
Aaron smiles and kisses her head. He leans over and turns on her music. He stands up and walks out of the bathroom.
(Y/n) closes her eyes and relaxes.

A while later she gets out and dries off. She puts on Aaron's robe since she forgot to grab clothes before coming in.
The material is soft and smells like him.
She walks to Jack's room and smiles. "Ready buddy?"
Jack nods and gets into bed quickly. He pulls the blanket to his chin and smiles at her.
(Y/n) giggles softly and grabs one of his books. She lays on the bed with him and reads.
He leans into her and listens.
Aaron listens from outside the room.
Soon Jack falls asleep so (Y/n) gently lays him down and kisses his forehead.
She turns off the light and closes the door.
"He really misses you." Aaron whispers.
"And I've missed him. Before I started at the BAU we would hang out all the time. Now we don't have time. Cases and paperwork keep us away."
"Having you here, even for a little while, will do him good."
The girl smiles and nods.
The two walk to his room.
"Do you want clothes or are you gonna stay in my robe?" Aaron jokes.
She makes a thinking face in response.
He laughs and nods. He digs through his drawers and pulls out a t-shirt then boxers for her.
She takes the items and changes in the bathroom. She comes back to a dark room and gets into the bed.
"I miss this too." He whispers and holds her close.
"I wonder what the team would think if they saw us." She whispers back.
He chuckles. "They wouldn't believe it."
She leans her back against his chest while his hand rubs her hip.
The two found this normal and comforting. They've been friends since they were young and they grew close over the years.
Soon sleep takes over both agents.
