HahA, despite the title, this is going to be a legitimate oneshot I swear.

Summary: 

After someone attempts to murder Makoto, Byakuya holds him in his arms as the "lucky Student" shakes silently.

Sitting in the quiet library, Byakuya Togami continued to read an unfinished book from the day before. Despite the killing game that was going on, he still had time for his books.

...After the death of 5 classmates already, everyone else become on alert. Scared, nervous, anxious, so many emotions ran through them. And not to mention, after the secret's motive, Byakuya had finally realized his.. 'crush', on Makoto Naegi.

God dammit, that boy had an affect on him, with Hagakure saying he started to go 'soft', and two other classmates agreeing with him. Makoto only watched from afar as that happened, too nervous to say anything.

Suddenly, the nighttime announcement went off. "Mm, ahem, this is a school announcement." Monokuma appeared on the TV, sitting on what seemed to be a throne with a glass cup with fruit punch in it. "It is now 10 p.m. As such, it is officially nighttime. Soon the doors to the dining hall will be locked, and entry at that point is strictly prohibited. Okay then...sweet dreams, everyone! Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite..."

Byakuya huffed, before putting his book down quietly. He stood up, making his way downstairs. Despite the stares some of his classmates gave him, he made his way towards Makoto's dorm, knocking quiet.

Seconds later, the small boy opened it, his hazelnut eyes staring into Byakuya's ocean blue eyes. "O-oh! Hey Byakuya. What's wrong?" Byakuya shifted a little, not realizing how nervous he was. 

"Nae- Makoto, I'm here to say something." He breathed out, "Be safe. You don't know who could come for you, so stay alert." And with that, he walked back to his dormitory, slamming the door shut.

Makoto could only stare speechless, before eventually, he shut his dorm door.

Yeah, definitely not strange.

Byakuya woke up later that night due to a loud scream in the hallways. 

He sat up suddenly, trying to find his glasses on the nightstand. Putting them on, he got out of his bed, narrowing his eyes at the door. This isn't some trick, right? Was someone actually being murdered?

That scream.. It sounded like..

Makoto.

He got up quickly, rushing to his door before swinging it open.

And there he saw him, laying on the floor, a bruise on his forehead and arm deeply cut. He was breathing heavily, his eyes shut.

Byakuya immediately rushed to the shorter man, other people starting to come out of their dorms as well. As soon as Asahina saw what happened, she gasped before rushing over as well. "Oh my gosh, Makoto!! Is he okay??" She looked at the blonde, who had now picked up Makoto and was bringing him to the nurses office.

"He doesn't look too bad, however we must take him to the nurses office to clarify his health." He told the Ultimate Swimmer. She merely nodded as some others came out of their dorms as well.

As Asahina told them about Makoto, Byakuya opened the door to the nurses office, laying him down on the bed as he stared at the brunette.

He looked through the cabinets and grabbed some gauze and stuff to clean his arm wound. He then walked back to Makoto and got to work.

Minutes later he had finished, before covering the sound with the gauze wrap. Just as he finished doing so, Makoto had groaned, indicating he was now conscious.

"Naegi." Byakuya spoke softly, careful not to scare him. Yes, he was cold. But when it came to Makoto, he couldn't help but to go soft... Just like Yasuhiro said.

"B.. Byakuya?" The shorter man mumbled. He opened his eyes fully, and stared at Byakuya. A few moments later, he gripped Byakuya's arm, and the latter couldn't help but to embrace Makoto.

"I was so scared.. S.. Someone tried to murder me." He let out a sob, remembering what had just happened. "It all happened in a flash!!"

"I'm so so sorry, Naegi." Byakuya whispered gently, holding him tigher and putting his head in Makoto's neck. "I promise, I WILL protect you, no matter what."

If only Byakuya could of confessed right there and then.
