To say I'm not nervous would be a lie everything was riding on this transfer. I couldn't sleep last night because of the nightmares. The Oppell's situation will haunt me for the rest of my life. I shake my head to focus. I stand up from my bed and go to the mirror to see if the bags under my eyes are noticeable. As I expected they are. I huff out in frustration and look around my vanity. "Concealer has to around here somewhere!" I say I open drawers when I see a little compact cream concealer. I pull it out and open it to see that it was almost gone. I throw my head back in disappointment. "it's going to have work". I take the little I have left and place it under my eyes. I then look at my appearance and frown. I then exit going to my closet I look through knowing none of these clothes look like a high schooler would wear them. I then look at a big box in the corner that reads high school. I didn't want to open it but I had no choice. I sit in the corner and open the box. On top was a  neon-colored Pacman shirt I smile and push it aside. The box was filled with skinny jeans and flares I laugh pulling them out. I look at both of them and decide to go with skinny jeans. I stand up and begin to change. When I finish I look in the mirror and give my reflection an unsatisfied look. I then throw my long black hair into a messy bun at the top of my head. I grab my bag and head out the door.

I sit at my desk as the Captain enters the main space. "As you all know we have a new officer. Quinn Kinsley transferred from precinct 34. I know you all read her file. Don't ask any questions because it is still under investigation. Okay, now to business three schools a large number of girls have gone missing. We need to act quickly. There might be tied to sex trafficking." He says grabbing his files and he passes one to each of us. I open and look into the file. It has my picture and the name Quinn Warton I look through the pages it has general information. "Hoffs you and Ioki are heading to Lincoln high, Penhall you head over to Washington High, Lastly Kinsley you are heading over to Perch high with Hanson he is already been there for 2 weeks. He is going to be watching out for you." the Captain says I look around and I only see three people that I met already. "Hoffs help Kinsley to fit in a little. Dismissed." I get up off of my chair and grab my things. Judy comes to my side and smiles I smile back. "Okay, so we have to get you to look less like an adult." Judy says and she pulls me to a back room. "Okay...so I like what you doing with the neon shirt but it is too long and doesn't show off your best attributes." she looks at my butt. "You are rocking serious curves behind there." She says lifting my long shirt. "Uh Thank you." she then pulls my shirt up to the top of my stomach wrapping it into a knot and tucking it under. I cover my exposed skin she laughs at me. "Your skinny jeans are cute but they aren't really in style right now." she says looking in a stack of clothes. "what's wrong with skinny jeans?" I ask looking at her. She pulls out light-washed mom jeans. "If you want to get in with the right crowd you have to dress the part. Change into these and we have to do something with your hair." I go to the fitting room and peel off the skinny jeans I pull up the mom jeans and clasp them. They were comfy I step out and Judy smiles she then comes to me with scissors she pulls at my shirt and pulls away. "This is a vintage Pacman shirt!" I say she stops and looks over to the clothes. She pulls out a blue knitted sweater.  "Here put this on. I suggest you go shopping for some more age appropriate clothes." I nod and take the sweater and go to the fitting room. I place on and walk out. Judy comes to me and pulls my hair down to a low bun she then pulls pieces of hair out to frame my face. She then turns me to the mirror. "Done!" she says satisfied with her work. I look at myself and it reminded me of a mom in the '90s. "What shoes do you have?" she looks me over. "White Nikes." I say she looks surprised. "At least you are up style with the shoes." she says. "You are officially a high schooler! Now we have to leave or we both are going to be late." She nods and we both exit. This is it.
