Shawn's POV

We spent the night eating pizza in bed and then me whispering sweet nothings into her ear and rubbing her back until she fell into a deep slumber. She was upset and angry with herself.

It was impossible for me to be angry with her. It wouldn't be fair of me to be angry with her over something she had no control over. Who I was angry at was myself for not seeing it. It was impractical for me to know but still, I should've seen the way she'd be so tired during the day or her clothes becoming so loose on her.

Currently, it was the next evening and we were on our way to the grocery store that took quite some time to convince her to go to.

"Seriously, Shawn...I don't want your help." She mumbled, not facing me but instead looking out the window.

I shook my head, sighing, "I don't care if you don't want my help," I placed my hand on hers, "I'll do it anyways."

With that, she didn't say a word but instead raised my hand up to her mouth and kissed it softly. My smile widened, now bringing her hand up to return the kiss.

We weren't together, officially. However, she had to know how much she meant to me and how much I adored her for just being her. Nothing in the world could scare me away from her. Not her income, not her past, not her occupation, nothing. I was the luckiest to have her in my life and I knew now that there was nothing I wouldn't do for her.

As we walked down the isles, hand in hand, I could tell how apprehensive she was to let me take the lead and care for her even with something as simple to me as food.

I turned to her, stopping in the middle of one of the isles, "okay, beautiful...what do you want?"
She looked up at me, with soft eyes and shrugged.

I pursed my lips, "okay then...I'll just...get a bunch of things I know you like and you can tell me what else you want, okay?"

"Okay, Shawn." She whispered.

We sped through isles grabbing some of her favourites like bananas, pastas, other fruits, vegetables and some of her favourite snacks.

I look over to her from the cart, hoping that she could at least approve with her eyes, "that's so sweet," tears began to well in her eyes. I chuckled, "what?"

"I can't believe you remembered all of my favourite things," she gestured to the cart before kissing my cheek, softly, unknowing that she had made me blush. "Of course," I smiled.

We continued to walk around some more and I was glad to see her more comfortable with grabbing items she loved without overthinking it, "ooh!" She cooed, skipping over to the fridges full of drinks.

I chuckled, catching up to her while still pushing the cart. "What do you want, sweetheart?" I rubbed her back with one of my hands, smiling like an idiot to see her so happy.

"Coconut water." She squealed, grabbing one. I rolled my eyes, gently moving her to the side and reaching for a good two weeks worth of coconut water, "Shawn, no-"

"Shh, I like coconut water too and I'm sure I'm going to be spending a lot more time with you at your house." I winked.

She blushed, hugging my arm. She had mentioned before that it was comfortable and warm to be so close to me and in all honesty, her admitting that made me melt and not only that but I had to agree with her. Despite how small she was, I still felt so protected in her arms.

"Shawn Mendes? Dr. Mendes?" A squeaky voice was heard from behind us and I knew exactly who's voice it belonged to.

I plastered a fake smile onto my face, turning on my heel but making sure to reconnect Camila and I's hands.
