Time Flies

It's been a year and a half since Shawn and Camila had met and they have never been more in love.

Camila recovered slowly as she had both mental and physical scars to take care of but with the help of close friends and family—a therapist, she was back on her feet, doing everything she loved. She graduated not too long ago and she was now a book editor making great money. Archie, Annabelle, her parents, Angela, and of course Shawn were there to cheer her on as she proudly walked on the stage, receiving her diploma and giving a speech as she was the valedictorian of her graduating class. Shawn and her decided to move in together as they were constantly with one another anyway. They found a small bungalow with two bedrooms and two bathrooms that wasn't too far away from Camila's place of work and the hospital. Camila continued to visit Angela. Sometimes, she'd bring her some tea during both of their breaks and they'd catch up with each other about what has been going on in their lives.

Shawn had better things planned as he fiddled with the ring in his back pocket. He had purchased it the night of her graduation which was many months ago but he never built up the courage to ask her. Shawn made sure to FaceTime Camila's parents to ask for her hand in marriage as they both cried through the phone, granting him his wish. With that out of the way, the only thing he needed to do now was wait for Dev to bring Camila down as they were having a girls night out the whole day. Shawn decided on proposing on stage where they had their first official date. It took some time to bargain with the poets—eventually bribing them with fifty dollars cash for Shawn to take their places as the act.

"Dev...what are we doing here?" Camila raised an eyebrow, sitting next to Dev in front row. Dev laughed out loud, "you like poetry, don't you?" Camila rolled her eyes, "this is where Shawn and I had our first real date." Camila beamed at the memory. "Perfect." Dev whispered, wiggling her eyebrows playfully. Suddenly, the lights went dim and the only thing illuminating the stage were candles and centre of the stage, stood Shawn—looking as amazing as ever. She blushed profusely when she noticed him wink at her and then blow her a kiss. She returned the gesture and to that Dev fake gagged. Dev would never admit it but she loved watching them be so lovey dovey with one another. It made her happy to see her best friend so happy and she knew that Shawn was a good guy for her. She couldn't imagine Shawn or Camila with anyone else.

Shawn cleared his throat into the mic, "Camila, when I met you...I instantly fell for you. Maybe it was your laugh or the way you smiled but I knew that you were the one...seeing you lights up my day and brings me so much happiness. No matter what the day is like, you are the calm to my chaos and if it weren't for you, I'd probably go insane." Camila chuckled at his rambling, though it was incredibly sweet and she could feel her hot tears fall.

"Camila, I'd be an idiot not to ask... so," he got down on one knee and a beautiful diamond ring with a sunflower in the centre.

"Will you marry me?"

The ring in his hand was something Camila could only dream of owning. It probably costed more than her money saved in the past five years.

"Yes," she breathed out, "holy crap... of course!" She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck as his found his way around her slim waist. "God, I love you." He exhaled before colliding their lips together. "So much," he said in between kisses.

She was going to spend the rest of her life with him.

"Oh," she said after pulling away from him. "What?"

"I'm pregnant."
