"Why did you make this complicated for me, Jordan?" Gabby turned around to see Jordan was sitting on the edge of her bed.
"I just wanted to be selfish for once." Jordan said quietly. "I don't want to lose someone so important in my life again but here we are, in the middle of breaking up." Jordan scoffed. "If you can't see through my eyes how I love living my life with you and Allie, then it's over. Goodbye, Gabby. Have a good night."
Gabby hugged Jordan once she was done talking. She cried on her girlfriend's shoulder. She didn't want to end it, she didn't want to lose Jordan, but life had made a decision for her. She was still a wife and she couldn't change it no matter how much she loved Jordan.
"I love you," Gabby said in Jordan's ear, "so much it hurts."
Jordan just nodded because she held her tears so hard. This was it. This was the end of their story. Just for four months Jordan felt alive again, and life took it from her once again.
Gabby left that night. Like really left. Allie didn't even have the chance to say her goodbye to Jordan because she already locked herself once Gabby was out of her bedroom.
Here she was, laying under the duvet, crying like a baby. No scratched that, she was bawling. Maybe she regretted it the first time Gabby was out of her room, but she knew it was too late.
"I love you too." Jordan said, chuckling pathetically. "But I guess I'm too late now and you're right, you're still someone's wife."
Jordan started her new life without Gabby and Allie in her house by visiting Olivia's grave. She cried a lot, caressing her fiancée's tombstone lovingly.
"Why don't you just come back to life?" Jordan asked no one. "I've missed you so much."
She felt goosebumps all over her body when the wind blew. It was like someone was there with her. She looked up to see the sky.
"I know you're here, baby." Jordan smiled.
Then after she took almost two hours just sitting there near Olivia's tombstone and 'talked' to her, she decided to come home.
Brandon, Emma and Cassie knew what had happened with her and Gabby and they understood her so they wouldn't talk about Gabby at all. Jordan couldn't be more grateful.
"One Cappucino, one Latte and two egg sandwiches, please!" Jordan commanded.
"Got it!" Emma shouted from the kitchen.
"I love when you're like this." Brandon smiled. "Energetic. Passionate."
"Shut up." Jordan slapped his arm playfully. "Make the coffee, Brand."
"Yes, Ma'am." Brandon joked.
At least she wasn't as miserable as she had been before Gabby came along. And Jordan was grateful she still had these lovely people. But she was sad when she saw Allie's spot. Allie wasn't there studying, Gabby wasn't there to help her. She knew she needed to get used to it but she still missed them sometimes.
She was wondering how they were doing. Are they okay? Does Steven change to a better person? He must be, because Gabby wouldn't come back to him putting her life and her daughter's life in danger. Just thinking about Gabby and Allie made her smile and she knew deep inside her heart she missed them so much.
"You're okay, Jordan." Brandon reminded her.
"I am." Jordan stated.
But when she went upstairs, she felt the loneliness. There was no Allie who would run into her when she was done working, there was no Gabby who greeted her with kisses, there was no one in her house except her.
Jordan stood in the middle of her living room, imagining her last four months when she felt alive. But then reality kicked in, she was alone again. She had no one to share her night thoughts, she had no one to cuddle in the morning. And she had no one to kiss her a good night.
Instead of looking for a new job, Jordan decided to open her coffee shop from seven in the morning until ten in the night to occupy her day. That was why she needed two more people to help her.
Brandon was in charge in the morning shift with two new people while her and the couple -Emma and Cassidy- would take care of night shift. But she wasn't Jordan if she didn't make her life busy. She came downstairs at nine in the morning to 'help' the new people but in fact she was there the whole day.
Well, whatever it took to make her forgot about that hurtful moment.
On the other side, Gabby found Steve had changed a lot. A way much better. He was like himself when she was falling in love with the man. And Allie seemed happy because her family was back together again.
"Daddy will be here and we're having lunch together, baby." Gabby said when she entered Steve's apartment.
"Okay, Mommy." Allie beamed.
She prepared for lunch, Allie was studying in the living room. Gabby heard the door burst open and Allie's laugh fill the house. Then she felt someone hugged her from behind, she smiled.
"How's your day?" Steve asked, kissing Gabby's neck.
"It's fine. Dropped Allie off, went to grocery store, picked Allie up and now making lunch." Gabby replied.
Steve kissed her shoulder. "I'm glad you're here. I missed you."
Gabby just smiled, she didn't know how to answer that because part of her was missing Jordan and part of her was missing herself when she was with Jordan. Hell, she didn't even miss her husband at all.
But this was her life now, living her family life after four months they were separated and she guessed she needed to get used to it. It was her decision, right? She gave Steve another chance, she gave her kid a family and she gave herself a chance to try to be his perfect wife.
Even though she knew her heart wasn't there.
