"Ready to go, princess?" I asked.
Allie chuckled. "Yeah. But do you know this area? You won't get us lost, right?"
I smiled. "Don't you remember that my parents live here too? Of course I know this area very well. Come on, I'll take you to the park."
Allie's eyes lit in excitement. Then we hopped in my car and I drove to the park I had mentioned before. It was only ten minutes, I parked my car and we walked to grab something to eat because, well, I didn't have breakfast and lunch today.
"Where's your mother?" I asked Allie.
"She went out to the grocery store." Allie replied.
"Did she know you're with me?" I asked.
"No, but I left a note. Telling her that I'm out."
I nodded. "Are you enjoying living in this town?"
"Yeah. I am, even though I didn't have the chance to explore the town as much as I wanted to." Allie replied, chewing her burrito. "How about you, Jordan?" Allie asked. "I'm a teenager, you know. Even though I don't know what adults do, at least you can talk to me anything."
"I'm fine. Still with the same rhythm at the coffee shop but it gets bigger. I built a new room in the back." I replied.
"That's great!" Allie beamed. "How's Uncle B? What about Aunty Emma, Aunty Cass plus Aunty Soph and Aunty Nat?"
I actually couldn't believe Allie still did remember my employees ten years ago. I smiled. "Brandon and Ethan, they got married five years ago, they have two adorable boys and they still live in the same town as me but they definitely have a better job."
Allie chuckled. "Being a barista is not bad though."
"Yeah, well, sometimes the salary sucks." I commented. "And about Emma and Cass, I heard they got engaged. They decided to do a road trip across the country, Emma is a travel blogger and Cass is freelance photographer. Well, they make a cute couple goals for sure."
Allie laughed, wiping the edge of her mouth. I continued to talk. "Nat and Soph back to their old town after they graduated from college and I never heard of them again since."
"Can I go to your coffee shop again?" I could hear Allie's voice was full of longingness.
"Of course, princess. That's your home too." I smiled.
Allie smiled. Then there was a silence between us while we were finishing off our foods and beverages.
"Jordan?" Allie called me.
"Yes?" I looked at her.
Allie sighed before spoke up. "Can I ask you something?"
"Sure, princess." I smiled to assure her it was okay to ask me anything.
"Do you still love my mom?" That question caught me off guard.
I forgot that she was a teenager now. I formed a smile from my lips. "It's been ten years yet I can't get her out of my mind every day." I took the moment to look at Allie's eyes which reminded me of Gabby's. "I do still love her."
"Then why are you married to someone else?"
