Hi, this took a while, but at least I'm still alive.
Request by Athena-Pallas10
I just realized when I was almost finished with this that I went a little off track of your request. I didn't really make him into Pride, but he still becomes a darkside. It also might be a bit more angsty than intended. If you want, I'll rewrite it and try to stay on track a bit better, comment if you want me to. Hope you still enjoy it!
Tw: over-working oneself, self depreciation, accidentally unsympathetic sides, darkside Roman, perfectionism, panic attack that might be poorly written
Summary: post POF. Roman is put under a lot of pressure. None of the other sides seem to notice or care, except one, but will he be able to help?
.......................................................................
Roman sat in his room. He was hunched over his desk writing furiously. He had to get some good ideas done. He had to prove his worth. That he is still a hero. It had to be perfect. He couldn't fail. They would hate him if he failed. They would hate him and then leave him. If he failed, he was useless. He couldn't be anymore of a burden to them. He had to get it right. He glanced at the clock. It was past breakfast. No one had come to get him. He swore under his breath. He was late to give Logan his ideas. He quickly grabbed what he had completed and ran to the living room to find Logan. Logan was sitting on the couch and glanced up from the book he was reading. "You're late."
He chuckled nervously. "Yeah..." He was late. Late. He should have been on time. He messed up. Logan probably thought he was lazy and terrible at time management. He probably thought that he didn't take his job seriously. If he couldn't even be on time, then how could he be Thomas's hero? "Hehe. Guess I got lost in my creative flow."
Logan sighed. He's disappointed in you. "Its fine." It isn't. You're being such an inconvenience to him. "Let's see what you have." He grabbed the papers Roman had handed him and quickly glanced them over. "They're decent." They weren't good. Of course they weren't good. He was a failure. A good for nothing mistake. He couldn't do anything right. He messed up. "But with the amount of time you had, I was expected better. It still clearly needs more work." He looked at Roman. "If you're actually willing to spend time on this." Spend time on it? Spend time on it!? He spent so many hours on it. Yet it still was trash! He really was a mistake!
At that moment Virgil walked in. Virgil scoffed "The prep is finally awake. What were you doing? Binging Disney and crying about your difficult life? Very princely Roman." He rolled his eyes. He was right. He wasn't a prince. He had to do better. They hated him. They were disappointed in him. He was a failure. He had to do better. He had to be perfect. He heard two other voices nearing the loving room. A shiver went down his spine. It was Patton and Dec- Janus.
Roman and Janus locked eyes. Roman swallowed. "Wh- what are you doing here, scale-let fever."( I'm bad at nicknames it turns out)
Patton quickly replied, "Kiddo, be nice."
Great. He even managed to make Patton upset. Good going. What next? Make Remus mad? Give Virgil anxiety because Roman was messing everything up? Ruin Thomas's career as a Youtuber so that he couldn't pay his bills, then end up homeless, and not able to get food so he starves, and then end up dyi-shut up. You need to reply idiot!
