as you were coming out of your bathroom, you adjusted the towel wrapped around you. it was cold in your room. you didn't know why.

you turned the corner and was met with mattia. you jumped but relaxed once you saw it was him.

"mattia, what are you doing here?" you asked as you covered yourself a little more. there were dark rings under his eyes. he looked like he'd been crying. he sat on your window seal, defeated.

"(y/n) why haven't you been answering my calls? why haven't you been answering my texts? did i do something wrong? if i did please tell me. you know i can't do this without you-"

"mattia slow down! what happened?" you asked him, leading him to you bed.

"m-my... cousin. he-he's gone and-" he tried to say but broke down crying. you quickly finish putting your clothes on and rushed over to him. he wrapped his arms around your waist and sobbed into you shirt.

"hey hey it's okay- i'm so sorry..." you rubbed his back and he pulled you closer.

you climbed onto the bed with him and cuddled up close. "i-i didn't have anyone to talk to and i tried calling you and texting you when i first heard the news but you didn't answer. it's just you're the one who always gets me through this stuff and-"

"mattia calm down okay. i understand. i'm so sorry i wasn't there..."

you've never seen him cry this hard. he always kept it together. "i'm-im just gonna miss him... so much (y/n)."

you continue to rub his back and twist the hairs on the back of his neck. it got quiet. you looked down and saw that he was sleeping.

you tried to get up to turn your lamp off but he pulled you closer and said, "no."

"mattia i have to turn off the light."

"i don't care. i need you." he said.

you smiled softly and cuddled back up with him.

"i love you (y/n)... thank you." he said.

"i love you too mattia."
