Chapter 4~ Surprising Visit

~~~~(Max's P.O.V.)~~~~

Coming to the end of the path and out of the forest, we made it home. Stepping up the stairs we hear laughter?

"Did you hear that?" I ask Ross, looking around for the source of the noise. We unlock the door only to find Jess watching Netflix on the couch. Wait why is Jess... I quickly let go of Ross's hand and looked at him in complete shock.

"Hey, guys!!" Jess says sprinting towards us and forward, almost pushing me down the ground with her hug. I hugged her back a bit worried she might've seen us and was just trying to play it cool.

"Hey, Jess. How did you get in?" I say growing suspicious but then again I forgot we told her about the spare key.

"Hey, Jess" Ross says, giving her a tight hug before letting go and heading towards the kitchen.

"Oh, Max did you forget about the spare key? The last time I visited, you guys showed me where it was. I would've waited outside but I didn't want to wait any longer so I just let myself in". She says walking over to the kitchen next to Ross.

"Ah, I see. Well, Jess, we didn't get you any food since we had no idea you were coming over" Ross says feeling a bit bad that they hadn't known Jess would show.

"Yeah, we honestly had no idea you were popping in to visit. Also, where's Jason and the kids?' Now fully taking a good look at Jess, she's pregnant!! Aww another baby

"Wait, you're pregnant???" I and Ross ask her, then realizing we both said it at the same time. We all laughed, wow we were in such shock that I and Ross didn't even realize she was pregnant.

"Well more of the reason why I came unannounced to tell you in person that we are expecting a baby. Oh yeah, don't worry Jason is off with the kids and wanted me to rest over here with you guys. Even though it would've been best to tell you on face time but well I had to head over here anyway so why not stop by and tell you then head off in the morning" She said walking to the couch letting us sit down and eat mhmm finally.

~~~Time skip~~~

~~~~(Max's P.o.v still)~~~~

We finished our food that still was surprisingly warm but was still so enjoyable. Ross was the first to finish his food and head to sit down next to Jess. While I sat down next to him, he scooted a bit closer and I could feel his eyes linger from time to time on my face.

 Once we watched a good majority of movies we decided it was best to head to bed. Of course, the sleeping arrangement was settled. Jess would sleep in Ross' room. So Jess could sleep comfortably, which meant me and Ross had to sleep in the same room.

"Night Jess," Me and Ross say heading towards my room and closing the door behind me.

"So do you want to share the bed or....?" I said quickly and felt a small blush starting to flourish its way down my neck.

"I...I'll sleep on the air mattress instead" Ross mumbled so we agreed on those terms. I kinda wanted him to sleep with me but I didn't want to pressure him into doing something he didn't want to do.

~~~~(Ross' P.O.V.)~~~~

As much as I wanted to sleep with Max...I didn't want to end up doing something that might end up confusing in the long run. Or maybe I'm just overthinking it all and should take this chance to tell him how I feel. What hit me was the fact that Jess didn't say anything about shipping us but she must've been exhausted from her trip over here.

 But then again she'll make up the time to talk about shipping us in the morning. I start drifting off to sleep letting the darkness consume me. Not even able to fully escape into the dream world, I hear a loud bang and quickly spring up and rush over to Max.

"Ross are you okay?" He still sounded tired. I was barely able to hear his voice over the silence under the thick covers.

"Y-Yeah. I just got really frightened, I'm sorry if I've woken you up" I say as I bury my head deeper into the covers. Max pulls the covers away and I instantly feel a blush of embarrassment rush through my cheeks.

"Ross it's totally fine. Come here my little squirrel. Nothing will hurt you, I'm here to protect you remember" He says yawning still tired, he leans over and kisses my nose. 

I feel the embarrassment being washed over by a deeper blush this time out of warmth. I scoot closer to him and snuggle up next to Max.

"Max" I say, not wanting him to see me blush even more I bury my head into his shirt.

"Yes, Ross" He says with a cute voice. Gosh, that voice just sounds so smexy ooo.

"I-I-I" I try to say those three words but can't since I'm afraid it might change something between us in the long run. But I quickly shut down those thoughts. I mean I'm already so far ahead why stop now.

"I-I love you" I manage to say loud enough for him to hear.

"I love you too my squirrel," He says, hugging me closer to him and soon after that  I can hear him sound asleep. 

Wow, that took off some anxiety that had build up in my chest. But I took in what he said...Wow, he really does love me huh? Well I know for sure I'll be able to sleep soundly knowing I got that out of my chest and now for the bigger concern.

Hehee wouldn't be a fanfiction without a suprise visit from Jess tehee~

Side note: I don't have an exact schedule on when I'll be putting the chapters out but I should most likely have one out tommorow? Anyways I gotta go start on the next one *grabs popcorn*
