Microphone's POV
"There you are," she heard Taco say. Moments later, she stepped into the clearing where Taco was sitting. There were two teacups in front of her.
Microphone sat down, looking at the tea suspiciously.
"Of course, you want to know what happened in the cave. That green vial attempted to save her folded friend by stopping Suitcase from getting the gem. Aaand, she hit you instead,"
"You mean, Test Tube would have shot Suitcase, just to save Fan from getting eliminated?"
"Of course. She was willing to physically harm a-"
Microphone immediately thought back to their conversation about eliminating Balloon. What Test Tube did was to save a friend, but she still tried to harm someone. Somehow, it still didn't seem as bad as tasering Balloon...
"... and she wasn't even able to save anyone," finished Taco.
"...yeah," said Microphone, trying to act like she was paying attention. "What do we do now?"
"We have nothing urgent on our hands, although that Knife does really seem to be out to get us, doesn't he?" said Taco, sipping from her teacup.
"Yeah... he's being a bit-"
"I heard your conversation with him. I doubt that we have anything to worry about, since I'm sure he won't tell anyone,"
"I think he's trying to... spy on us though," she said.
"Well, I know that it's just the two of us here," said Taco without hesitation, pulling out a device similar to a calculator.
"Oh," said Mic, feeling relieved.
"Even if he did know a bit about our plans, remember, he's not going to do anything," said Taco, throwing her teacup into a bush. "Besides, we won't have to worry about that for a while,"
"Why not?"
"I've got it all figured out," said Taco. "I have a plan, so we can sit back and relax a bit,"
"What is the plan?" asked Mic, a bit annoyed now.
"Well, let's say that the remaining contestants will... try to finish each other off. You see, your path to victory is clearer than you think, Mic," said Taco airily.
"... alright,"
"I also have some experiments to carry out, so in the meantime, don't do anything stupid,"
"That's helpful," Mic rolled her eyes. Taco looked surprised.
"Well, I should go now. I must go acquire some of the tools that we'll need; after all, where do you think I got all these devices from?"
"Test Tube's... lab?" questioned Microphone.
Taco smiled strangely and disappeared into a bush along with her belongings. A rustle, and she was gone.
Microphone sighed and looked at the place where Taco had sat. She knocked over her teacup, which turned out to be empty.
It'll be fine, she told herself. I just need to go back and act like nothing happened. Not too difficult.
She turned around to go back, but felt nervous.
I don't feel safe without Taco around, she thought. Deciding this was the best course of action, she put her bow back on.
Now invisible, she felt more confident that she wouldn't cause anything stupid to happen.
