Knife's POV

What is she doing?

Microphone was standing next to the egg, looking terrified. Without warning, she backed off and ran into the forest. Without thinking, Knife stepped out from behind the tree. He was about to follow her before something felt... off. Did he forget something?

The egg?

Probably not. He didn't care about the egg. Mic on the other hand...

He brushed the thoughts away and stepped toward the point where she had vanished. He kept walking until he saw her, huddled against a tree. She didn't see him yet.

What was he supposed to say? What if Taco was nearby?

He accidentally stepped on a branch, cracking it in half.

Microphone's POV

Something's behind me.

Microphone turned around too quickly and almost tripped. Her eyes were wide, but she quickly composed herself.

"How did you kno- why are you following me?" she sputtered. "I mean, what are you doing here?"

"What are you doing?" Knife asked, irritated.

"I'd like to know what you are doing here," Microphone retorted, standing up. "Why are you following me around, huh? You just want some answers on something that's none of your business, and your solution is following me around everywhere?" She was face to face with him now.

Knife just looked back at her with his arms folded.

"You're doing something wrong too," he said.

"I don't know what your point is, but you've reached a new low. Stalking, really?" She flinched, realizing that she sounded exactly like Taco.

"Then what were you doing?"

"None of your business,"

"Did...Taco tell you to do that?"

"Why?"

"I don't know," Knife rolled his eyes. "Maybe what you were about to do was a bit... unethical? If Taco would put you up-"

"You're one to talk about morality, Knife," Mic sighed. Knife seemed taken aback. She continued.

"I know that I can think for myself. I'm not only doing things that Taco tells me to do," she explained, annoyed.

"Sure you are," said Knife.

There was a pause.

"Uhh- what do you mean by that?" Microphone shifted her feet awkwardly.

"You wouldn't be doing that to Test Tube if it weren't for Taco telling you to," said Knife.

"We're just... working together. I'm doing her a favor,"

"What about yourself?"

"Would you have done it if she didn't ask you?"

"I wouldn't have thought of it," Mic said. "I-it's benefiting me as well,"

Another pause.

"There you are, Mic," Taco appeared out of a bush. "Get away from him, now,"

"T-taco?" Microphone gasped, jumping backward. "Why are you here?"

Taco leaped out of the bush.

"You don't want to get shot, do you?" She pointed the laser gun at Knife and started walking forward slowly.

"WHAT?!" Microphone lunged toward Taco. "W h a t a r e y o u d o i n g? This wasn't part of the plan!"

"Oh Mic, there is so much you wouldn't know about my plan,"

The laser gun started pulsing stronger and Taco struggled to keep it pointed accurately.

A flash of white-purple light, and splinters flew everywhere.
