The lighting outside the window isn't the only thing that wakes Jungkook up, a damp spot under his bum does too. Jungkook whines as he moves off the bed and onto the floor, wanting to get away from it. He fails when he notices it's on him too. He had yet another accident.
The poor baby starts crying, slipping more as the thunder roars outside.
"Jungkook? Are you here?" A sleepy Taehyung pars Jungkook's side of the bed, but only finds the wet spot. He sits up quickly, eyes glancing around and finding him on the floor next to the bed. He gets up and walks over to the crying boy, picking him up and setting him on his lap.
"Did Kookie have an accident?" He asks softly, kissing his head and rubbing his arm.
"M-mhm," Jungkook hums, voice shaky from the tears. The lightning strikes again, followed by thunder. Jungkook screams, turning around in Taehyung's lap and hiding in his chest.
"Hey hey it's ok. It's ok, baby. It's just thunder. It isn't gonna hurt us. We're inside." Taehyung gently takes Jungkook off his chest and cups his cheek.
"Is Kookie afraid of the thunder?"
"Kookie'sh 'fwaid ob thundew,"
"The thunder isn't gonna get us, baby boy. We're safe. Take a deep breath for me," Taehyung says as Jungkook's breathing picks up.
"Kookie dun wike it, daddy."
"I know baby. Daddy's gonna protect you. Now let's get changed." Taehyung smiles gently at the little, picking him up and carrying him to the bathroom. He sets him next to the sink and tries to walk out to get clothes for him, which Jungkook doesn't want him to go.
"Love, I'm getting clothes for you. I'll be back in two seconds," Taehyung kisses the little's forehead and runs to get a onesie for him. He comes back to find a teary-eyed Jungkook.
"Baby what's wrong? I came back it's ok," Taehyung frowns and hugs him.
"S-scawy," he sobs as he rubs his irritated cheeks on Taehyung's shirt.
"It's ok, love. I promise. I'm here, it's ok," Taehyung says to him, playing with his hair and rubbing his back. Another roar of thunder shakes the house.
Jungkook wails and shakes again, "Daddy!"
Taehyung hugs him closer, this time picking him up and setting him on his hip.
"Breathe, baby, in and out like me," Taehyung says as he attempts to calm his little down. Jungkook shakes more and tries to breathe. Taehyung bounces him slightly and rubs his back.
"That's it love, you're ok. Let's try to calm down together. The storm is gonna pass, baby. You're safe inside with daddy. You're ok," The caregiver speaks softly to the little, rocking him some as he calms down more. He feels something warm and damp on his side, which then the little begins crying more.
"I sowwy daddy Kookie no howd it anymowe," he sobs.
"Accidents happen, baby. Let's get you clean." Taehyung says as he takes the shirt off his and Jungkook's body.
"Da thundew daddy," he whimpers.
"We're gonna use some wipes and a water bottle since we can't use the sink or shower,"
After cleaning and wiping him down, he dries him off with a towel.
"Do you need a nappy just in case, bubs?"
"Wan nappy," he mumbles. Taehyung smiles and puts one on then changes him into his onesie. He then changes himself into sweat pants and a t-shirt.
"Daddy, tiwed," he yawns and rubs his eyes.
"I'm gonna change the sheets first, ok? Just wait on the chair and then we'll go to bed," he kisses his cheek then sets him down to change the sheets. Once he does that, he lays down with his baby. Jungkook has forgotten about the storm, and falls asleep with his daddy as he plays with his hair.
