Cassie opened her eyes, and jumped out of bed.
"Fuck, what time is it?"
JJ groaned and sat up, "just get back in bed Cass."
"JJ I'm being really fucking serious, what time is it?"
He turned his phone on, "huh that's weird, it two in the afternoon."
"Stop messing around, what time is it?"
The boy started to look concerned. "Uh, check your phone?"
Cassie picked up her phone, and felt her stomach drop as she saw the time and the amount of missed calls she had. JJ watched as she swayed on the spot, hardly breathing.
"I'm dead, I'm not kidding their gonna kill me-"
"I'm sure they won't-"
"JJ, when was the last time your dad moved out of the house for a month cause he didn't want to kill you and deal with the mess but thought if he had stayed any longer you would of, or- or do you remember that time I had to message Kie saying that if I died it was him?"
Cassie had a tendency to spill her secrets when she was worried, or angry.
"You did that? That was Kie's kook year."
"Oh. Um I have to go- I'm in the shits."
JJ thought for a moment. "Don't."
"What? Don't be dumb-"
"No I mean it, don't go-"
"JJ-"
"Cass, move in here, they don't make you happy."
"But-" Cassie tried to make an excuse but honestly couldn't think of anything she would like more.
"What causes you the most anxiety?"
"Them but-"
"And who doesn't understand your episodes and just gets mad?"
"Them but JJ-"
"And who tells you you're doing everything for attention and that you fake panic attacks?"
"Them. But they're family, just take me home."
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
"I've never seen your house before."
JJ sat at the wheel of the van, staring at Cassie's house in awe; it wasn't small.
"I, uh, I'm not a fan of having people over at mine."
"There's still time to change your mind, you know."
"Look I don't know what this fake kind act of yours is, but I'm not falling for it."
The boy sat, mouth wide, and watched as she walked away.
"What the fuck."
Cassie felt herself breathing less and less but she didn't care. She didn't exactly know why she was so rude to JJ, but she just knew after her parents were done with her she needed to apologise. The girl chuckled to herself, that was hardly an angry burst compared to what she usually had.
Mhairi was at the door.
"Did you really have to be such a fucking bitch, we're all in trouble because you decided you were the shit and that you were gonna sneak out. Well guess what; you're not- you don't even have fucking friends-"
"Day that you JJ, Kie, Pope-"
"Boys don't count, thats one."
Cassie groaned.
"Boys do count."
Ignoring her, Mhairi continued; "you can't even get a boyfriend who isn't Rafe, and he is desperate."
"Will you actually fuck off-"
"Who the fuck do you think saying that to your sister, you've been fucking gone all night, selfish fucking bitch- with you it's all me me me, we'll get this into your thick skull: it's fucking not. So many people are more useful than you so stop thinking your the cunting shit when you are not, oh you are so done this time, I can't even fucking look at you- you disgust me."
The girl tried to hold back tears, but they started streaming down her face almost as soon as he started shouting; she does that when anyone shouts at her.
"Are you just going to sit there like the village fucking idiot? You are the route of this family's problems, you know that? If you were never born we'd be doing just fine."
It was funny really, they wished she was dead, but are still throwing a hossy Foy because she was out for a night.
Cassie started to get dizzy, sometimes when her dad was shouting, and it was really bad, she would pass out. Usually after she'd wake up on the ground, one time even surrounded by her blood, all alone, but as she always says 'it's chill'.
After reading her dad was done with her, she walked into the kitchen and faced her mom.
"I don't know where I went wrong, you are so disrespectful-" her parents expect respect even thought they treat her like shit, "- you mess everything up. Because of you my whole fucking weekend is ruined. Why do you always try and mess up my shit, we ask for such simple things-" they ask for a lot of stuff which is no where near simple, "-and you can't do it. What is so fucking wrong with you, are you genuinely fucking retarded? Are you on the spectrum? Is that what it is?"
Cassie frowned, "being on the spectrum doesn't make someone a bad person-"
"Well if you are it looks like it does. You don't know when to stop- it's like I spend my life chasing after you, and I'm fucking sick of it, I'm sick of your shit. You make me so depressed-" her mother loved a good self diagnosis "-sometimes I wish I'd never had you, you know that? You are to much damn trouble than you're worth. Everything you touch, you ruin it. Why can't you fucking realise that? You drag everyone down, poor Rafe or even those low life "friends" you hang out with, you are so draining, if I was then I would kill myself to get away from you."
Cassie ran to her room in tears.
"You know, moms right. If I were them I would- if I were you, boy I would be dead by now."
"I don't have time for this Kayleigh. Just leave me alone."
Cassie slammed the door of her bedroom and fell onto her bed, tears streaming down her face. Slowly, she blew air threw her mouth so no one would hear her crying. With a hand on her chest, the girl tried to focus on breathing so she wouldn't end up having a panic attack, and be called attention seeking.Yikes
