Wei Ying POV

As we enter the place I once called home, a spicy aroma floods my senses. He said he made lotus rib soup for me. I leave my coat and shoes in the entrance and go to the bathroom to wash my hands. As I enter the kitchen, I ask him. "How did you know I would wake up from my coma today?"
He says, "I didn't know. My brother told me when I went to work. So I make this soup each week, hoping that I still have some for you when you come home".
"Lan Zhan," I say, "When did you make this soup?"
"Yesterday"
I laugh, and I place myself in the kitchen, helping him chop vegetables as we prepare dinner. We don't say much until we go to our bedroom and embrace.
I speak, "You should know that I never wanted to leave you behind."
"I know," he says and kisses my forehead.
"You should also know that I am proud of you for raising Shizui so well."
"I know", he repeats and kisses my cheeks.
"You should also know that I never stopped loving you."
"I know," he says, and he kisses my lips.
The kiss is gentle at first, but deepens as hunger consumes us both. Our tongues dance, meeting each other after a long time, probing, caressing each other. My hands start to dance on Lan Zhan's back, and my nails start to dig into his skin as he bites my neck. He plays with my body with his hands.
He knows me well.
As I moan, I ask, "So what now, Lan Zhan, am I forgiven?"
He looks at me and says, "There is nothing to forgive Wei Ying; what you did is what you always do. Protect innocent lives at the cost of your safety. As for us, you promised me long ago to be mine each day, and I intend to make you fulfil that promise from now on," and he pushes me to the bed.
We fulfilled our promise that night several times.
Sleep claims us rapidly after our bodies collapse. We have a killer to catch, and we need to find out how Xue Yang got involved in this. But now, all that matters is that we are together again.
