"Wake up Kacey! The boys are here!" I shot up and looked at my alarm clock
11:45 am
"Shit!" Almost on cue there was a knock at my door. I get out of bed and open my door to see Chris, I give him a small smile and he returns it. As he smiled it made my knees weaken, his smile is like a drug for me, it has been since the day I met him
"Kacey I'm going to work! Love you!" I hear my dad call
"Bye Dad, love you too!" I call back, I grab some jeans and a sweater. I walk into the bathroom to change real quick
"Where are the others? I thought I heard my dad says boys" I say coming out of the bathroom
"Oh they are downstairs they told me to come and get you" he says looking at the pictures on my dresser. He notices the picture of me and him that Gordie took of us

"Remember that day?" I ask him with a smile, looking over his shoulder
"Of course! That was a fun day, we all went to the lake. Then went to the nearest gas station and bought a lot of snacks, then all of us stayed up all night talking and playing card games" he replied putting the picture down "Ready to go downstairs?"
"Yeah sure" I say, walking to the door. I grabbed the handle and tried to push the door open but I couldn't. I heard laughing, so I started banging on the door
"We aren't letting you guys out til you guys confess your love to each other!" I hear Gordie say through the door
My face went to a deep shape of red, Chris tried to open the door as well but failed "Ok, Chris you might want to move" I say, he looked at me confused but moved to the side
I closed my eyes for a quick second and kicked the door as hard as I could. The door flew open and the boys were now on the ground so I just take off running, I hear the boys calling my name but I just kept running
I run to the treehouse and climbed the ladder. I sit down in my usual spot and put my head in my hands. I let out an annoyed groan
'Why would they say that? I really do like him but he doesn't like me back. God that's so embarrassing'
I hear the secret knock from the latch "Come in" I say lightly. The latch opened to reveal Chris, I look down again
I hear him sit down across from me "I'm sorry Chris" I say with a sigh
"Kacey there is no need to apologize"
"Yes there is. I'm sorry that the boys did that, I don't know why they did. I'm sorry that they told you that I liked you, I'm sorry that I fell in love with my best friend. I'm sorry that I-" I was cut of by a pair of lips on mine
I was shocked at first but I kissed back almost immediately, he pulled away a few seconds later
"I'm sorry Kacey I shouldn't have done that" he says and looks down, I grab his face and kiss him again for a few seconds
"I love you" Chris says after we pull again once again
"I love you too Chris"
"Kacey Jackson, will you be my girlfriend?" He says grabbing my hands and looking at me with a serious face
"Of course" I say then kissing him again
"Come on let's go talk to the boys, they really are sorry"
"Ok" we climbed down the ladder. Chris grabbed my hand and I happily took it. We started walking back to my house enjoying each other's company and I completely forgot about what the boys had done in that time and enjoyed the moment
