Chapter 10
Isobel sat on BD’s back as they hovered in the air just outside of Shadows, waiting for the knights and Dylan to get inside the walls. It was hard for both of them to wait so patiently without being near the action or to be able to see or hear what was going on below them, but they strayed quiet and tried to keep out of sight in the cloud line.
“They must be there by now,” Isobel sighed and rubbed her thigh awake as she started losing feeling in it.
Do you want to go check? BD asked and slowly started heading towards Shadows.
“I don’t want them to throw spears, or forks or anything else at you,” she replied and started to stretch her back as it started to cramp up. “I didn’t believe that sitting still for so long can cause a person this much ache.”
Now you know how I felt when I was stuck in that cave for so long, he complained and swooped down quickly and then just as quickly back up.
“Come to think of it, how did you manage to get Charming if you couldn’t get anywhere near the kingdom?” she asked. She didn’t know what the next few minutes would hold and she wanted all unanswered questions to be answered; if only she could ask all of them to everyone.
The only way I can explain it is, it was like a wall around where I could go except that one place but as soon as I tried to get back home going that way it hurt again. I think it was because the Queen did not want to me eating any of her life stock.
“I want to go home,” she muttered, her voice filled with regret as to leaving and missing her Father but when she thought of Charming stuck in the evil Queens clutches she got a sudden case of chills and wanted to get him out even quicker. “Let’s get this done, if they aren’t in place by now they will have to find another time to get the Prince out.”
Where do you have in mind for our attack? He asked as he suddenly darted forward gaining speed as he headed towards the Kingdom.
“That tower is coming down,” she said with such determination it almost scared BD but he agreed. The Queen could see anything from the top of the tower and no-one should be able to see everything that was going on around them.
BD couldn’t resist breathing fire on a long winding dirt path up the middle of the kingdom, scaring town folk as he went. The flames licked higher than the houses but they didn’t touch the buildings which everyone was grateful for; at least this time on BD’s fly over they didn’t try throwing anything sharp and pointed at him.
“Come on BD, I want to get this over and done with before we get caught,” Isobel cried out in excitement, all the energy being wrapped around her as chaotic as it was it made the blood rush around her body.
They darted straight for the tower, keeping as low as possible so they could keep hidden as they got closer and could make more trouble on the way. “BD you must promise me something,” she said as he started to climb higher into the air.
Of course Isobel, I would promise anything, he replied as he reached the top of the tower and hovered above it
“Whatever happens to me as soon as it looks like you are in danger of being captured again I want you to leave. You go back home to your Mother forget about anything that is happening to me, I’ll be fine but I want you to keep safe,” she said and pulled her sword free.
I do not know if I can promise that.
“Come on BD, let’s say hello to the Queen.”
They screamed a blood chilling war cry and they descended onto the roof of the tower. Isobel kept her sword ready sort any sort of attack she will meet in the tower.
