Before I could even process what was going on, strong arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me under the table. I couldn't stop my body from shaking as I took in the scene before me. My brother and Lucas were on either side of me, Jason's arms wrapped around me while Lucas' hands rest on my shoulders protectively.

I could faintly hear the sound of shuffling feet before a deep voice boomed, "Lock the doors, no one gets in and no one gets out!"

Before I knew it, I was squirming in order to get a view of what was going on. I had barely moved an inch before Lucas pushed down on my shoulders, keeping me in place. When I craned my neck so I could see past Jason, I could just make out a few tables with kids cowering beneath them, like we were.

Jason's arms tightened around me when footsteps could be heard just at the other end of our table. "NOW," A deep voice began."We don't want any trouble, we'll just be taking a few of you back with us." My brow furrowed in confusion. Why would they bother causing such a big scene if they only wanted to take a few people with them? If they were looking to kidnap people, they could just as easily have grabbed them from the side of the road.

Why am I thinking about this?

I quickly shook away my thoughts, only wanting to focus on what was happening at the moment.

"You could say we've gotten ourselves into some shit, and you're our way of apologizing." He continued. "So we all seem to be in quite a pickle."

My ears picked up on the sound of a struggle from the other side of the cafeteria. It was only when I heard dragging feet, and felt Jason's grip on my arms tighten, did I get the strangest tightening feeling in my gut.

"Now," the same man began again. "What's your name sweetheart?"

When I could finally lean forward enough to get a decent view of the scene before me, I took notice to three things. One: there were about four masked men spread out all around the room. Two: they were looking under every table, appearing to be searching for something in particular. Three: Lily, my best friend of five years, stood in the center of the room with the masked man standing directly in front of her.

Jason seemed to see this as soon as I did, because he was quick to tighten his arms around me, and cover my mouth.

You better bet your buns that I squirmed, kicked and fought. Although, throughout this process I didn't dare draw attention to our table. I had to manage to attempt to free myself silently. No matter what, I wasn't getting my brother hurt because I had to be that one dumbass kid to scream at the worst possible moment.

But that fact didn't stop me from trying to break free from his grasp. I would do what it took to get to Lily, she was practically family.

Ohana and all that jazz.

After several minutes of non-stop struggling I was about to scream out in frustration, when a shriek sounded from a few tables down from ours.

And that was all it took for Jason to let go.

Before he or Lucas could stop me, I shoved myself out from under the table and pulled myself to my feet.

I didn't bother looking around the room because the second I stood, my eyes connected with Lily's blue ones. I wish I could say she looked composed and strong, but the look of utter terror in her eyes shone through. I wanted to run to her and find a way to get her out of this unscathed, but before I could move a muscle, a cold object came to rest at my temple.

"Now where have you been hiding?" A raspy voice whispered behind me.

I stood frozen, fear gripping every bone in my body. I should've thought this through. I should've made an exit strategy. I couldn't believe I had just thrown away Lily's and my chance of escape. I just had to be compulsive for the first time in my life.

I didn't bother looking back at my table, Jason's face would be enough to make me reteat. He had always taken up the protective brother role, and seeing him upset had always broken my heart.

I tried to keep my voice calm as I responded to the man. "Up your ass, along with the many other things you stick up there to keep content."

Before I could react his hand came crashing down on my cheek, throwing me to the ground and leaving an awful stinging sensation. "You little bitch..." The man stood over me.

I tried to mask my pain as I stared up at him giving off the most sickly sweet smile I could muster.

"Enough!" The first man bellowed. "Just grab the girls and let's go. We're running out of time."

Before I could scramble away, two arms roughly pulled me to my feet and began dragging me towards the exit.

I kicked out, attempting to slow him down, but as we approached the caf doors, Lucas' voice rung out around the room.

"Get your hands off of her!" He yelled as he ducked out from under the table and ran towards me.

I sat by the water, enjoying my Gelato while watching waves crash on the shore below. I had managed to get myself so wrapped up in my surroundings, that I barely noticed two arms wrap around my waist and two legs stretch out on either side of me.

I was quick to lean back into the embrace, smiling as Lucas placed kisses along my neck.

"What were you thinking about?" He whispered in my ear, his arms tightening around my waist.

I smiled leaning back more. "Absolutely nothing." I whispered back, as he pulled me closer to him.

"I love you," he murmured.

"I love you too."
