(a/n) This is a rather dark chapter. There will be foul language and a slight self-harm scene. If ya don't wanna read it (it isn't very graphic. Just a small paragraph), then skip the final paragraph. Again, It's not very graphic, but it's still there. It has to happen. *shrug* So again. Dark theme. Foul language. Minor self-injury

Kenzie lounged on the couch in her small flat while Triniti paced over and over again, murmuring quietly.

"God, Trin. Quit it! You're gonna wear down my carpet. Just relax. We'll know when we know." Kenzie groaned, and laid her head back. Triniti glared at her but kept pacing.

"I'm not gonna stop until we find out. This is my chance to meet them. Like, actually meet One Direction. I wonder if Niall is really as giggly as he acts." She paused with the last part, fantasizing about her favorite Irishman.

"I wonder if you're capable of sitting down. Though, I doubt it." Kenzie fired back, earning another smoldering glare from her friend's dark brown eyes. Kenzie's phone vibrated, and she groaned as she hauled herself up from the inviting couch to check it. Finding it was from Mrs. Kelley, her heart leapt into her throat, and she quickly unlocked it.

Check your email. Great job. ;) She dashed over to her small laptop, and flipped it open, typing her password quickly. Triniti peered over her shoulder excitedly as she opened an email from kgrennock@gsod.com.

Congratulations, Kenzie Dubh Montgomery. You had the highest score in today's audition, and are our studio's representative for the final audition. Please report to Mrs. Jenn Pyles tommorrow at 8 a.m. to complete necessary paperwork. Again, congratulations, and good luck.

Kenzie's heart skipped a beat, and her mouth dropped open. She stood up and began pacing, a grin spillting her face wide open.

"God... I cannot believe... I get to audition... Holy crap..." She murmured, and turned her gaze to Triniti, who had commandeered the computer and was reading an email about how she had performed nicely, but did not have the necassary points to go to the auditions. Triniti slammed the lid down, scaring Kenzie, and jumped to her feet. She snatched her bag and headed toward the door.

“Good job, bitch. Have fun ruining everyone’s hopes and dreams.” She growled over her shoulder, and Kenzie froze, confused.

“What did you just say?”

“I said, go ruin everybody’s lives, you whore!” She hissed and Kenzie stalked over to her brown-haired friend. She looked down at the girl of average height, her hazel eyes hard.

“You know, I didn’t make it my lifelong goal to make enemies out of everyone I meet. What’s gotten into you?!”

“What’s gotten into me?! I’ve been dying to meet the lads ever since I was 14! I get the chance to prove myself, and I’m shot down by a bitch who doesn’t even listen to their damn music!” She screamed, hands curled into fists.

“I do  listen to them! They’re my favorite damn band! I’m trying to make my own path in the world, and I’m stopped at every corner by a bitch who mum and dad give her anything she’s ever wanted. You’ve got a family who loves you, a house you don’t have to pay for, food you don’t buy, a dance education that you don’t even mind the cost of! I have to pay for everything I want or need, with no one to help me if I lose my way. I thought you were that person, but I was wrong. Now I just know you’re a self-centered whore who will step on anybody to get to the top. So get out of my fucking flat!” She roared, hand throwing open the front door. Triniti ignored her and stomped over to the mantle, grabbing a picture of 6 smiling people and throwing open a window.

“Kenzie means the daughter of a handsome man, right? Well, I hope you never forget that your ‘handsome’ dad, and everybody else in your pitiful family, don’t give a damn about you.” With that, she threw the picture out of the window before Kenzie could snatch it. She stormed out of the flat while Kenzie could only watch as the only memory she had of her family was engulfed by the black waters that filled Loch Ness.

Tears streamed down her face as she watched it disappear, and slammed the window closed. She leaned back against the wall, and slid down until she was sitting with her face buried in her hands. She cried endlessly, tears streaking her performance makeup and dripping onto the carpet she had whining about not even an hour ago. She looked up, and saw a single shard of glass by her foot. She picked it up, inspecting it carefully through the sheen that her tears cast over her vision. She pressed it against the skin on her wrist, and gasped as she slid it along, slicing open the flesh. She held it to her chest as she kept crying, blood beginning to stain her shirt and dripping onto the white carpet.
